I have not received it yet, but ordered one of these, a Fallkniven 35th anniversary model, Damascus blade, desert ironwood handle inserts, gold plated screws. Mass drop has them for $149 for the next few days, a limited edition of 1000.
Nice. I spent a couple of years over in Turkey back in the early 70's. Copper cookware was quite common, and we often saw shops that did re tinning. Remember untinned copper can be toxic. We have an old copper pot that must hold 20-25 gal that is copper lined. I think it was for making...
Now if only the Air Force would do something similar, like a blue blouse and gray trousers, need to keep the black shoes with those colors. Back in the early 70's I had one class A in the old blue gray 100% wool, heavy and i was always stationed in the south or in west central TUrkey, mostly...
I have one that I picked up used in 1970 and it looked like new so maybe very late 60's model. I have never had any problem with any ammo in mine. A couple of years prior to that I had bought a new K 38 as a college graduation present for myself.
I always wanted a K 32 but never could find...

I have been using one of these, one large external pocket on the back, three larger under the flap, one zippered, then on front pocket several pen slots and one that is large enough for a small notepad, checkbook, or iPhone. My...
I got a neat little 36 cal flintlock in southern mountain style a few years ago. I had my son out shooting it one day and he commented," and they fought wars with these things" We were using either Hornandy or Speer 000 buckshot for 36 cal balls, a rather tight fit but worked well. The small...
Oh yes, along with watches, safety razors, and guns. I have quite a few fountain pens, mostly rather new, Pelicans (my favorite) Montblanc, Visconti, Auroa, Delta, Pilot, Platinum, Sailor, Cross, and some vintage pens from Parker, Sheaffer, Esterbroo, Conway Stewart, and Soennecken.
I love my Marlin's, probably because I learned to shoot a M39a. I have more of them than any other make, 3 M39 variants, a 39a, 39aMountie, both from the early 1950's, and a 1897 Cowboy. Two 1894's a 44 Mag Cowboy and a 1894cl in 32-20, probably one of my favorites. In the 336 series I have...
No pics, but I saw a Haenel, built on a German 88 Commission action, in 6.5x52 ( think 25 Remington). A very elegant little carbine. I just hope I someday run across one.
Ported or non ported. I have one of the early porter models, and talk about loud. It's also fun to shoot at dusk and see flames going everywhere. I have the same rail system and a Leupold scout scope mounted with QD mounts, and a Lyman receiver sight on the back of the receiver. I changed...
I lucked into my 1a at a gunshow some years back. The metal was perfect but the wood looked horrible, as though it had set in the sun for years. All the finish was cloudy and large spots missing. It took a lot or careful scraping to get the remainder off. I don't know what Ruger used but...
As far as the pinned magazine, I don't think that would be a problem.
After the first shot those things move fast, so one, maybe two follow up shots at the most.
That's a fun game. Back in the early 70's I was stationed in Izmir Turkey and we used to go out in the mountains for driven hunts...
Several things look well done, the turned down bolt handle, at that point they were straight, the pistol grip addition, and the inlays where the sling attached on the buttstock are all well done.
Sad thing is that what would today be a very valuable carbine was "sporterized" and is probably...
Looking at that stock which I think was slotted for a sling, makes me wonder if it was not originally a M94 carbine. I just looked up a couple of auctions on Gunbroker ant that slot on the left side is definetly a M94 sling slot.
Love those Swedes. My only M38 is a 1900 year model by Mauser Obendorf, with a 2 digit serial number. Research and info for the Swedish Mauser forum shows it was one of a special run of 5000 rifles that year. My stock has some light tiger stripe and shows lots of dings for 118 years of...
Antique or modern made, Caliber ?? It looks like a southern mountain rifle in style, rather simple. I have a similar flintlock in 36 cal, strictly a squirrel or rabbit gun. All the fittings on mine are iron vs your brass. Flinters are fun, really teach you the art of the follow through.
