    9mm or 45cal

Looking at original title of this thread, It got me to thinking. I found via another forum mention of another ammo company , Liberty, who has a line of ammo called Liberty Civil defense. One example was 9mm, listed as using a 50 gr lead free hollow point at 2000 fps and 450 ft lbs energy, and...

    Show us your Guns!

I have one like the first, only with a basketweave pattern that I had El Paso make up for me about 25 years ago for a Browning HP. My full size 1911 fits fine as does my S&W M 41 with a short field barrel.

Glad to see some others feel the same way. I actually placed an order for a little Sig P 238 .380ACP today. It is basically a miniature 1911, lacking only the grip safety. They make a Model 938 in 9mm but those are currently not available , and only difference in the 380 is 0.4" in barrel...

Pretty, wish I had gotten one while they still made the square butt and nice grips. I have a little Smith 342, ti Lite, scandium alloy frame and barrel shroud, titanium cylinder, DAO 5 shot j frame, that only weighs 10.8 oz. Honestly that Mod 29 is much more comfortable to shoot than that...

A word to men who wear high boots

A bit late in replying to this, but totally agree. About five years ago when I was working in a hospital, our acquisition cost for Crofab, the newer standard of treatment for snakebite could run 6 to 8 thousand dollars per patient, depending upon the size of the evenomation, and the patients...

I can imagine. I got back in USAF reserve after ten years active stint and 10 years active. Even during Vietnam era we never had any chem/biological warfare training. That was the first thing after going active reserve. That MOPP gear. chem warfare suit, over regular uniform was not only...

    New Stetson Open Road

I got one of the 10x shantung Open Road's in today and wore it to town. It's still quite warm(hot) here in E Texas The hat is a bit softer than the 6x Shantung and snaps down in front quite easily as I like. Jeff, I looked at the Hat co site and did not see any Open Road styles in hemp or...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Same here Went over to Jackson, Ms over Labor Day and came back with a bad summer cold. I really have not been out much the last week or so. Yesterday I did manage to put up most of my straws and get the felts ready for cooler weather, if it ever comes, still 94 today. I also found a...

    Nooby nooby new

Welcome Don It sounds like you are starting much the same as I. I had always had some western hats, but did not wear much, so as I started getting older tried some Tilley hats and started getting used to wearing whenever outside. I also started getting compliments. I then graduated to some...

BBQ Grills, and more specifically, Kamados

I had a Weber about 20 years ago and never liked it. Too many parts to stack ect, although it did a good job. Went through a cheap charcoal grill, then a couple of gas grills and finally got a Big Green Egg. I like the way it can be set for direct grilling or indirect heat for slow smoking...

    The wonder of wedding bands

My wife had her original set lost or stolen. She still has the replacement, but has developed arthritis and swollen joints after 45 years of marriage and can no longer wear rings. I still have my original on and have had it there every day, except for about 3 months when I badly injured the...

A very COLD Winter forecast for Canucks. Feel an ANJ-4/N3-B coming on?

93 degrees and 66%humidity here in E Texas today. I honestly hate summer and the heat here, preferring late fall and winter. I can just be more active and comfortable in cold weather when it hits here. I'm 71 years old , seen both and just prefer a cooler climate.

Yes, I have six, all full military models. My favorite is a 1900 model 38 by Mauser Obendorf , with a two digit serial number.
