You took your kids to Scotland, from Germany, to get custom fitted for lifetime jackets? What a great Dad! I wanna be your kid!
And, welcome to the forum! I hope we get to see some pics of those jackets, and your jackets.
That's exactly what I did after four years of heavy use. I was surprised how little dirt there was to come off - scrub as I might, the sponge and mildly soapy warm water stayed visually clean. I was surprised. But then again, I don't ride a bike.
The Pecards made the leather feel wonderful...
I've never dyed a jacket, but I have dyed plenty of boots and shoes. I had (and still have) no idea of what I'm doing, but, in every instance, I liked the finished product IMMENSELY more than the one I started with.

I think I have to go against what everyone else is saying here, Atticus. The jacket looks jarringly out of place on you, especially with everything else you are wearing. Kinda the same effect as if you were sporting a new 19 year old girlfriend.
The only way you should wear a jacket like...
You would have to ask him. They only have two basic styles on their ancient and decrepit website, the Chunkie and the Gansey (guernsey), but they can do other things - kinda like Johnson Leather's website.
