What "prints" through is not the cloth pocket bag, but the thick layers of the leather welting. You can see it bulging through the leather of the jacket. And, in time, this raised area gets more wear and the topcoat wears off around it.
EDIT: I guess I was speaking from from theory or memory...
@dudewuttheheck What kind of jacket do you have coming from Himel?
Also, when I use the: @dudewuttheheck ...does it notify you that you have a post addressed to you? This is my first time trying it. Thanks.
Is this the one you've been working on lately? Did I miss a thread about it? It looks sharp from this one dark picture, I hope you post a bunch more!
You are an intelligent man, with a sly sense of humor... but you are also enigmatic and mysterious. May I ask the meaning of you 'name' -...
If I could custom order my jacket all over again, I would have inside pockets, but they would be patch pockets sewn onto the lining, made of the same fabric as the lining. I would have several - different sizes, shapes, and depths. They would not have the multiple layers of leather welting...
Jackets ARE life!
I remember when I was in sixth grade, walking to school one frosty morning, freezing and shivering, and only wearing a thin sweater, because I didn't even own a jacket. I told my Mom and Dad about it at dinner that night. After dinner, my Dad took me to a men's clothing...
One of the nicest jackets to ever grace this forum! Well thought-out details, beautiful leather, fits like it was made for you, those shiny brass zippers really do add something.
It looks like the perfect jacket... that with enough hard wear... could make it into the "God Tier"
Would you trade ALL your other leather jackets for just this one?
If you could NEVER buy another leather jacket, which would you rather have: your current collection... or this one jacket (assuming it fit you perfectly)?
Do you like it? I saw it on their website and thought it was blah and unexciting. It's $395 plus shipping, and I can't even say I would prefer it over an $80 Carhartt.
Wow! What a beautiful jacket! Stopped me in my tracks and eclipsed everything else on this forum. That must be the 'light brown sheep', right?
One of these, or the Dominator, in sheepskin, has been gnawing at my willpower for a couple years now. Yours just poured gasoline on the flames of...
Ahh, ya got me, Dan! The only clue I had was that you said it was used every day - that got my attention and made me wonder.
Nice post, cleverly worded and laid out. The pics were great too. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to appreciate how my wallet ages and gains character. The...
Exactly. Sometimes attempts at light-hearted humor on the internet can fail, because you can't transmit the tone of voice and the twinkle in your eye. Hence the winky emoticon. ;)
It's actually a compliment on how realistically the brand new, high-end coat and jeans are distressed, aged and designed. The jacket, in particular, looks like it has spent time in field, ranch or factory, and been hand washed and lined dried a number of times. Nails the well worn, antique...
Add a straw cowboy hat and some dusty work boots, and you could stand around the Home Depot parking lot and look like you
were waiting for someone to hire you for day labor! ;)
