Welcome to the lounge! Great looking jacket! I would be more prone to the Fifties Flight Jacket than an A-2, myself, for two reasons - One, the more comfortable fit, and Two, the handwarmer pockets - I use mine all the time.
Before you decide on which leather to get, you might want to talk...
It DOES need a buckle at the bottom of the zipper, because that zipper doesn't come all the to the bottom of the hem, and you have those side adjuster tabs that would pull the bottom of the front opening apart - which would not only look bad, but put focused strain on the bottoms of the zipper...
One of those - AMF Harley - in seal brown, was my first leather jacket ever. I bought it without knowing ANYTHING about leather or jackets, at a Harley dealership, 35 years ago. Since then I have learned so much about jackets and leather, and have had many, but have NEVER had a nicer fitting...

Good luck! And...
I think they look sharp too. I know I couldn't pull it off - I don't have the right physique, lifestyle, or clothes and accessories to wear with it - but if I saw someone else wearing one, I would think - "Wow, now there goes a guy with STYLE."
That is a cool look - you look like you're about to go rough up some scabs in the 1930's.
The jacket has character. How do you like it, and how does it fit? Also, what kind of sweater is that?
