The wibbly-wobbly wavy zipper is the first thing I see in a lot of Thedi jacket photos... I think only the washed jackets, where the leather has shrunk but the zipper (of course) has not. Amazing jackets, but it's a bit off putting. I still want to buy a Thedi jacket, but would specify no wavy...
Sizing is very hit and miss in general with footware- just look at Nike's official size conversation charts that make absolutely so sense what so ever.
Regarding boots- I am typically a European 46, which translates to US size 11-12.5 usually, but over the years I've also owned a pair that were...
Can we go back to calling them Racing/Racer Jackets now? Cafe Racer is such an UGLY name for a cool jacket, and it is neither the original name, nor does it make any coherent sense.
To be honest, TREEMAN's posts veered from offensive to merely humorous. Dude, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you usually post coherently and don't insult everyone, so lay off the alcohol, ease back on the meds, and have a little nap.
I completely agree with this. Not only might they do work on their own products at a reduced rate, but is the work really going to take a skilled expert more than an hour? $60 doesn't seem unrealistic at all.
Just what I was thinking!!
The jacket is inoffensive, but the fit for the actor in the tv series is horrendous- a few sizes too big. If you do replicate this jacket, OP, I'd advise you size in it proportion to your frame.
Those Naked and Famous jeans look nice, and are a sensible price. Couldn't pull them over my thighs, though, even in the largest size they sell. The downsides of having played lots of sport all my life.
I had to dig about a bit to find the measurements. You'd think every measurement would be...
Whatever you do, entirely ignore tag sizes on any clothes you own. Measure the waist of the trousers you own, and look at actual waist measurements listed for the jeans you'd like to buy.
Levi's, and others, engage in vanity sizing- even when I had a 37" waist I could comfortably fit in tag 34...
Sizing raw jeans can be a pain. They do shrink if entirely raw and not one-washed or sanferised (which I prefer). Expect them to shrink all round. I've personally found the waist does eventually stretch out beyond the original size. I'd go snug, personally.
In terms of length I'd add a couple...
Japanese products of all sorts end up with an element of prestige about them... they often might be of better quality than alternatives, but are they THAT much better? In Japan a lot of these products are 2-4x less in price than they are in the internationally, which I don't like, as it's not...
+1 to becoming a convert to 1-2% stretch jeans. I hated early stretch jeans I tried on, as they were VERY stretchy, but the 541's with the lower amounts of stretch are great.
Not for crotch reasons- I just prefer fresh smelling clothes!
Hand washing in the sink/bath, as opposed to machine washing, does seem to work well with jeans. Never tumble dry them... The crease lines all seem to stay in place after a soak.
I find just as raw jeans are starting to show good fades the crotch tends to blow out, which is annoying. And that's when I've tried wearing jeans with infrequent washing (which I wouldn't try again).
I've tried a few different companies, and I'd be willing to try more if any fit like 541's.
I think we got our wires crossed, as I never compared IH to $250 jeans. :)
£400 is $550, so quite a lot more than $250. If they sold them for the same price in Japan I wouldn't begrudge it the same, but they don't, and things like that irk me.
Does a $550 pair of jeans compare reasonably to a $1000 dollar leather jacket? I would have thought the raw materials for the...
If you ever go to Japan you can snag the IH 634's for about 45% of their Western price. Or at least you could, when I did it. The money I spent on the 888S UHR was silly. I think I over the last 12 years I spent £100 on the IH634's in Japan, £190 on the 1995S in Thailand, and maybe £400 on the...
