Like everyone is saying it comes down mainly to the position of the collar, as determined by the pattern. If one collar seam is 2 inches higher than another then the back length needs to accommodate this. A fit jacket in the same pattern you are going for is the best bet to get it right.
It depends on things like height and thigh size- true straight jeans or trousers look like flares on me! I don't want carrot shaped or tight round the ankles jeans/trousers, just a moderate taper to cut down on excess material.
I have a European equivalent of the Gen III Polartec Fleece (Level 3) and it was the only warm top I needed back when I travelled around the world for three years. It was perfect for it, with only minimal damage after so much wear. Best thing I ever did with my life, that trip.
I also care little for current trends. I can't go back to jeans that aren't tapered, though, as with big thighs and a slim waist it looks it looks out of proportion. Mid raise tapered jeans for good for me! (Or until I'm a retiree!)
After 3 years of my idiotic habit of buying expensive jeans I returned to the 541's, which are tragically being discontinued, simply because they look so much better. As I have lost something like 45lbs from my heaviest, so 541's actually fit me even better now. At my largest my thighs were...
Jeans fit is a funny thing to get right.... I'm 6'1 and have spent my adult life lifting weights and playing sport, so I have a big ass and thick thighs. I almost exclusively wear Levis 541's, with a front rise of 11" and rear rise of 17". I own and wore a couple of pairs of Iron Heart jeans...
Vanson do make some beautiful jackets! They really do need fix their car crash of a website, hide some of their ugly designs, and stop putting hideous branding on the outside of some jackets. Still, I want a Vanson for myself!
It doesn't look too short in the photos, but your jeans are hiked up. As it's only half an inch away from spec I'm not sure there's much leeway to complain to Thedi. If you'd asked for an extra inch and a half, that would be a different story.
Beautiful jacket, either way.
What is this part of a jacket called? Waist band? Skirt? Belt? And why is it almost always tucked under the jacket, like in brown here, rather than attached on top of the black jacket? You only tend to see the seam of the 'belt' on top on trucker jackets. Thanks
I'm broad across the chest whist having a slim waist, so off the rack jackets with a sufficient pit-to-pit tend to look baggy overall. Be careful that it's actually your shoulder measurement that needs increasing, not your p2p, otherwise you might find yourself with droopy looking shoulders on...
That gold sale... Good God.... I was working on the financial markets back then, and everyone outside of government thought it was stupid even at the time! We probably should avoid politics to avoid depressing ourselves unnecessarily...
Groceries have gone bonkers. I've been out of the UK for most of the last 13 years, so I often only get to see the prices once or twice a year when I visit. I'm back right now. My favourite feta cheese has nearly doubled in a year...
It's hard to see how inflation is "only" 11% or so for the...
