I came across someone named Ivano posting on another forum when doing research on Canadian hats. I would be interested in acquiring one, can you steer me in the right direction?
My Nutria Quality is all fixed up and on it's way back from @bond
New sweat and a new 1" ribbon. I had to save that red liner. Excited to get this one back into the rotation.
So Mr. P. Finished my hat and it's out for shipping. He liked the design so he added it to his collection :)
I will be posting some photos and a review when it arrives.

Wow beautiful hat Ross. The liner and sweat are amazing. Was this an ebay find?
Before I knew that Standard qualities typically date to the 1930's I passed one up for a pretty good price. It had OR dimensions. I am still kicking myself for not grabbing it.
Looks nicely worn to me. I have a similar 3X and have gotten used to it being kind of weathered. Love that you forgot you had it!

Sure looks like a nice tall crown from that angle! Very cool photo. Makes me think of a gunslinger looming over you asking if you have any final words. Maybe I have just been playing too much Red Dead Redemption.
Yeah no problem. I was doing similar research so I just kept it in mind. I have family that grew up in Ontario if you let me know what city it shipped from it might help to find the store.

Welcome to Vancouver! No good hat stores to speak of but let me know if you need any restaurant or travel recommendations from a local.

You won’t be disappointed with a Gannon. It’s far superior to my campdraft and any hat I own that isn’t vintage and in some cases to those as well. My Gannon is dress weight beaver and is in the OR dimensions. I had the exact same desire as you wishing I could purchase a black CD. I ordered a...
Here is the proper first link. The museum has all of there stuff archived online. I used the search function and typed ‘hat’ and also tried ‘Stetson’ lots of cool information and photos of the plant etc. There is one on there that has images of the inside of another Stetson hat. Definitely the...
One other article on here with no picture but the description certainly sounds like the same box. Date from the museum set to 1935.

I did find one little item for you Greg. This appears to be the same hat box from the brockville museum. It has a 1941 date attached through a handwritten note on the box lid. Did the hat ship from Canada?
I also saw a year old post from a guy saying he had ‘100+ NOS fedoras from the brockville...
I’ll see what I can dig up. It’s actually what Terry said in the Western thread and it corresponds with what the seller said about it. I don’t think I’ve actually flipped the sweat on this one.

Weren’t OR’s always bound edge? Maybe it’s just in the wrong box or was mislabelled from the get go. I have a 50’s OR that came in the ‘original’ Knox box.
I think the gold and black keyhole tags where mostly in Canadian hats. But in the Canadian Stetson I have the outside of the tag is gold...
Someone with more Akubra knowledge will most likely reply but from what I have read and experienced by visiting David Morgan and feeling / trying on some hats that it's a bit of a luck of the draw scenario. Some people have had great soft felt in both heritage and standard ( imperial ) and some...
