I have RMC JH1 in black. I am 181cm and 84kg. I'm wearing size 42 with a very nice fitted look. So 38 sounds about right for you. The jacket fits very comfortable for the measurements. It has underarm gussets which allow for some movement.
nope. That's CXL type fading.
Here's my blackened brown vic. I'm the 4th owner. has been worn hard. Maybe like in 2-3 years, you'll see some brown peaking on the arm creases.

here's my brown CXL aero, less than 2 years wear, maybe 100 wears all in...
Early morning marine layer lately, so I can get some light jacket wear in until about 10 am. And Lucchese ropers. Picked up these worn once pair yesterday for a nice price. My new rabbit hole has opened. Now need some proper boot cut jeans. It never ends.
Here's my thoughts having handled Ridley, Aero CXL and blackened brown vic.
Ridley, amazing jacket. I think Aero absolutely nailed this pattern. Super comfy, doesn't have the usual neck lines, etc.
I've owned the Ridley in both natural CXL and blackened vic. The CXL was beast. It was too...
Every time I wash them, I think to myself, "ok, this time I'm going to go at least 30-40 wears before the next wash". Then inevitably, I realize how silly that is and break down and wash probably after 10 or 15. Most of the wears are indoor hanging out around the house. If I was out sweating...
In the sun, it's there. Anything below 70, and it's a turtle shell. Still really stiff and just feels heavy. It's just a thick piece of leather and the usual CXL rigidness. Color evolution is unreal though. Jacket is not even 2 years old and other than maybe a 2 or 3 month span early...
Every once in a while I think about selling this. But then I hang in the sun, let it soften, and just stare in awe.
I wish it was a little bit thinner cxl and I think that would make it more pliable and practical for LA weather. But it's all good. Maybe with more wears and more sun, it'll...
Very nice. Was just thinking the same thing. I picked up a RRL 101j style jacket. I like the cut because they made it a touch longer and slimmed the sleeves some. But it's pretty light weight, maybe 12 oz. Cut to this 14oz Iron Heart shirt I bought. It's like a tortoise shell. See myself...
so nice. I remember we got ours back to back. I made the same mistake for my preference. I should have included another 1 inch on the front drop. I think cafe racers look better longer. It's not game changer, but I do find myself tugging down through out the day when I wear. But I do...
The stuff they used on Vanson Commando and Schott 3-16 A2 is dreamy. I think it's Lux, but they refer to it as CXL. It definitely ain't the kind of CXL I've seen from Aero. Very thin top coat, stiff at cold temps but nowhere near the usual CXL, good evolution and wearability.
But that being...
Maybe once the wax burns off. I'm going to start hanging my Aero Sheene in the 105 heat and see what happens over the next couple weeks. I've got great color and creases from about 75 wears and getting it wet a couple times, but yeah, if it's a degree below room temp, it's a tortoise shell to...
Sold. Might have a couple more jackets popping up soon and still have a couple Schott flight jackets for sale pretty cheap. The quest to get the jacket count down is moving along, now I just need to cut off the Iron Heart shirt hunt LOL
Could be a couple factors.
Elastic band is losing tension. Basically the elastic pulls those parts in, giving it a tuck. As you expand your back/shoulders, the elastic is supposed to give some so you get further extension.
Could just be the leather curling up. Either normal wear and tear...
question for the IH army people out there. I picked up my first denim shirt IHSH 33. It's about a half size too big for me. Doesn't look bad now, but I like it to be a little more fitted. Should I give it a soak and dryer right off the bat to shrink some or just wear and deal with it later...
I think DH uses Nitta tannery. I remember watching a video about it. Pretty much Shinki like but a little more pliable and softer out of the gate. I was considering their J24. I think you can order direct and dollar to yen conversion is quite good right now so was appx. $1200 or $1300...
I went up one size only because I knew at some point I would wash the jacket and put in dryer (was tan color so odds were high it was going to get dirty). So the 42 pretty much came down to a 40.
If you don't think you'll ever wash it and/or will hand wash/air dry when the time comes, you can...
