Pondering the giant quality disparities of the Schott 184SM (and the assorted others)

I don't know which year they started putting tags in the pocket, but you can see the models there that give more details. I've seen 164, 174, 184, etc. Then you need to research what leather was actually used. Usually in the schott forums you can pick up details once you have the exact model...

Pondering the giant quality disparities of the Schott 184SM (and the assorted others)

I've got a couple versions of these. Amazing jackets especially for the money ($100-200 range). I'd say even bigger bang for buck than the usual Brooks/Kehoe/Fidelity, etc. but that's my subjective take. The difference in the two I have is one is clearly a 100 series Schott leather, i.e...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

OMG wow. Congrats! I too have a fascination with shearling, not necessarily just B3s. It's crazy because I live in Los Angeles area, 111 f. yesterday LOL. But I actually wear my shearlings the most of all my jacket collection from Nov to Mar because they're perfect to grab and go in the...

    Leather Cafe Racer Sizing Question

alterations will cost you more than jacket and might not turn out well. If you were starting from scratch, sleeves could be about a half inch shorter and overall more tapered to the opening. Body could be more tapered as well to address some of the blousing in the mid section and back, as well...

I tried on my first Real McCoy A2 today. How does it fit?

LOL. Love it and not saying you're not speaking the truth. But it's kind of like saying you want the qualities of a sportscar when you're buying a SUV. They have different looks, purposes, functions, designs. An A2 is never going to fit like a cross zip and nor should it.

I tried on my first Real McCoy A2 today. How does it fit?

Jeez, tough crowd. I think the OP jacket and fit look awesome. It's been worn for 3 minutes LOL. You can't expect it to drape, hug, and crease like something that was worn all day long in all kinds of crazy weather and doing military work in it where the jacket is getting a lot of movement...

    Parkhurst Boots Delight 10D

LOL. I"m afraid to answer. I could probably sell off another few and still have a lifetime supply. Just like the jackets, it was very exploratory mixed in with stay at home boredom and endless rabbit holes. Now that I have a better sense of what I like, I just want to start putting in the...

    Parkhurst Boots Delight 10D

Here's the next boot package. I believe these are both Allen model. Natural Chrome with storm welt. Black Chrome with storm welt. These are much lighter than Iron Rangers but built just as great if not even better. I'd say similar in league to Grant Stone, but made in USA. I went to the...

    Boots Galore 10d

Sold. Thanks for the good mojo, Jiaward. I may do another one of these if I get some time to go through the closet this weekend. I've got some Parkhurst and other Thursday and maybe even a pair or two of Redwings. Shipping is quite the pain and expense though, so need to figure out a better...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Love it. Seen a bunch of brown ones in this style. I've got like 3 on various watch lists LOL. What size is this one? I'm ok with the longer length but sleeves a bit long, no?

Ask a Question, Get An Answer About Outerwear

funny, I just bought some too. I'm not a scientist, but I think it will be overkill for jackets. I see it mostly for shoes that are really in the muck of things quite literally. Salt, mud, etc. Will it destroy your jacket, probably not. But you better condition afterwards, that's for sure...

    Boots Galore 10d

Here's a great back to school package deal LOL. Too much hassle to ship these out one by one. So I'm offering at a killer price (at least I think so) as a good starter kit for anyone looking for a range of boots and styles. They all fit as a 10d in typical boot sizing (Red Wing Iron Rangers...

The Real McCoy’s 30S Nelson Fit

Yep, too big. Once the leather settles down, it won't be as bad visually, but it'll still feel loose on your body. That alone would drive me nuts. It's an expensive jacket, you can do better. Too bad the sizing doesn't go down anymore though.

    recherche BUCO JH1

The sleeves are a little bit short, but that is very nit picky. I think that is a good fit for that model. But you are little smaller than him, no? Or did I misunderstand. So for you should be slightly bigger, but I think not too bad. No way you are 40 though. And I wouldn't go to 36 since...

I didn't know they changed the sizing. I bought mine used, but I'm fairly certain the person I bought it from has only had it one year or so. So my reference is for that. If they switched the sizing more recently, then maybe I'm not a good reference. For my tastes, the brown jacket you are...
