Thanks for the info. It's also likely I overdid it on trying to " break in" the leather. I was pretty rough with it trying to get it to soften but I guess sixty year old HH should probably be accepted for what it is and treated more gently.
Hi folks, I recently was chatting with our local leather shop owners about conditioning dry, older leather jackets. I've always used Picard's with good results but they suggested UV3 Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. The couple have been in the leather repair and restoration business in this...
Hey folks, a catch and release sale here. This one came in much bigger in measurements than advertised so it doesn't fit at all. Also this one was quite the "stinker" upon arrival. I had it cleaned and it's definitely "wearable" but in the spirit of full disclosure there is still a slight...
Darn cat, can't help but love them though, lol. I've been warned to never leave a leather product in the area of a four legged family member; it usually doesn't end well.
Good point, I should probably run the next jacket I sell past the neighbor for a "sniff check"; he would think I'm crazy but it might not be a bad idea just to be sure that my sniffer isn't out of wack, lol
Yes, " basement flood" description is the proper wording that I was looking for. I enjoy the smell of old leather, even the faint smell of body odour is acceptable and expected, but our brains are wired to pick up on strong, offensive odours as part of our survival mechanism. Hard to believe...
Hey folks, I was wondering what the general consensus is on the smell of old leather jackets. Is it assumed that old things can smell and if you purchase an older item on the lounge that you would have to accept that it might smell, or should the seller forewarn the buyer? I know everyone's nose...
Bump $800. I have it listed on eBay as well, first time selling anything on eBay; quite the price gouge at 12.9%. Price drop for TFL reflects some of the loss I'll take if it sells on eBay
Hi there, selling this Magnificent Beast of a jacket with mixed emotions. Authenticated by Dave at Eastman; he figures it's 15 years old and one of the best examples of a used B3 50 Cal he's seen. Fits awesome, looks and feels awesome; but I have limited my space and funds to a certain amount...
