    The Resistol Roundup

    My new to me Resistol 5X, refurbed by Scott (new sweat). He did a GREAT job on the crease...I feel NO need to re-crease it!;) Felt is soft and simply awesome.....is one of those changing color felts that had different flecks of fur throughout......almost heathered. In some lights, light grey...

    Movie hats

    I find it interesting in a good many Film Noirs (and just 1930's detective movies like "Boston Blackie" it seems the police detectives tend to wear a lot of thin ribbon fedoras.... While not a police detective here is a good TRF.

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

    Crossing out the labels in second hand stores is not about the buyer knowing.....it is about the implications to the brand and liabilities of a shop having license to sell some high market goods. It is also about the customer potentially defrauding another shop with "seconds" or even trying to...

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

    I cannot see anyone putting X's in their hats for personal identification....especially with gold leaf paint. I would venture another (unpopular here on the lounge where everyone thinks their hat came direct from the factory, but logical) opinion....these hats were sold second hand by an...

    Shudde Bros. Hatters in Houston

    Yes, in fact it was introduced around 1955. There has been some ads around hear somewhere and I have something in the vault too. I do have another Twenty Five with this logo along with a fractional only keyhole tag. I believe it was one of their (Stetson's) longest running logo for the Twenty...

    Shudde Bros. Hatters in Houston

    Here is my latest (I should probably post some of my others) Shudde Brothers hat. It is an interesting Stetson Twenty-five. This has the appointments like a OR but is one of Stetsons many "other" like hats and in NOT marked as a OR. This is a LATE 1950's early 60's and while thin, the felt is...

    The Stratoliner Society {VINTAGE}

    I FINALLY got one (that fits, I have had a few....that did not...I have a silver belly mid 50's right now in 7 1/4). Late 40's very early 50's. Red/white blocking tag, orange re-order tag. Lovely dark steel grey with blue tones.....the ribbon was matching at one time....I LOVE what the years...

    Boater faction!

    I think with the Scala it is a matter of sizing....they don't use much. I always wondered about removing the ribbon (and perhaps the sweat also) and starching the crap into it! I see no reason this would not work (would just be a lot of work) as it is indeed real wheat straw like so many of...
