Today, a greatly modified Akubra...."Adventurer", 2 5/8" (all around) re-flanged brim, mid-ribbon, added wind cord, new liner, and creased with a nod to the "clipped" pinch hats of the 30's. I really like the thinner felt of this one.

Look at the sweat Jack.....it says "50X" with a bunch of X's and "Real X's". in 1965 Stetson was Stetson, Stephens did not buy them until 1971. Stetson did not contract out their felts.....ever.

Did they even have a "50 X" hat like this in 1965? Nothing about that hat looks right for 1965........2005 perhaps.
As an aside one of his actress wives was from and lived here in my town until a few of years ago, Kathryn Hays (1934-2022).
A recent purchase from Brent (who bought it from Stephan) is this Barbisio. This is my first experience with this brand. I simply love the felt!! Awesome hat that will get head time.......... :)

Yes.....so I do NOT count. My wife sort of does.....when friends say how many hats do you have, I say I don't know....my wife says "well I have counted at least 100 boxes"......and then I stupidly say.."many/most of those boxes have more than 1 and up to 4". Conversations tend to end after...
