    Today, a greatly modified Akubra...."Adventurer", 2 5/8" (all around) re-flanged brim, mid-ribbon, added wind cord, new liner, and creased with a nod to the "clipped" pinch hats of the 30's. I really like the thinner felt of this one. Forgot to add the liner shot.....

    Look at the sweat Jack.....it says "50X" with a bunch of X's and "Real X's". in 1965 Stetson was Stetson, Stephens did not buy them until 1971. Stetson did not contract out their felts.....ever. The liner does not look right either.......... Did you look at the sweat (and liner) pictures you...

    Did they even have a "50 X" hat like this in 1965? Nothing about that hat looks right for 1965........2005 perhaps. As an aside one of his actress wives was from and lived here in my town until a few of years ago, Kathryn Hays (1934-2022).

    And then a few days before Christmas we are out and about and I find this cache of ties..... The knit silk college ties are among my favorite now.... and well that silk brocade is quite the tie..... VERY thick and heavy....well made! :)
