Sam doesn't look right without his moustache--I couldn't get used to missing it in Justified. I'd be the same way as I've had mine since I was 16 y.o.!
Yes I understand the downside of a rough out boot-these wouldn’t be for dress so keeping them clean wouldn’t be a big deal-and I’d order them in dust/dirt color! I know a lot of guys who ride saddles with a rough out seat and they hold up well. That said, when it came down to springing the...
Ok I’m nearly recovered from recently purchasing my custom Paul Bond PeeWees, so I’m plotting my next pair lol. Thinking about a full rough out tall buckaroo style for nostalgia's sake: when I was in HS my friend and I both bought some tall top full rough outs at an army surplus store–we wore...
Part of your fit issues (if you’re like me) is that your arch length may be related to a size different from your overall length. That is the distance to the ball could be consistent with say a size 10 1/2, but you may measure a 9 1/2 or 10 on the overall length. The store should measure both...
Did you try on more than one pair of the Dan Posts (in the same size)? It seems there is more variation these days in off the rack boots. I used to be a straight up 9 1/2D and pretty much any of the name brands back in the 80's fit fine. Since then my feet changed and I pretty much need to...
Here's a link regarding my custom Premier Highwayman. I went through Carrie at Thurston Bros. I used a 30's half-belt as a "fit jacket" and wanted something trimmer as I felt there was an excess of material in the arms. Carrie sized me up from my regular suit jacket size (and from the fit...
Thinking about ordering a pair of Semi-Dress Whites. Are there advantages/disadvantages to ordering from Baker's vs direct from Whites? Also, I'm not wanting a super heavy duty boot--want a lighter weight build for casual wear. What specs would you recommend to get the weight/clunkiness down...
Ok folks following up as I received the aforementioned boots today! Overall I'm pretty happy with them--especially given that all we were working off was one picture from a cowboy boot book--I'm still unsure of the original maker but I assume they are late 40's early 50's--so I was after that...
When I used to wax my 'stache this was the only one of the many I tried that would hold up to sweat etc., and didn't "wilt". But yes hard to get out--which is not a big deal if you wax every day.
Well I thought wearing spurs on stage would be a little pretentious, haha. Actually these were my typical riding duds that I wore on stage at times. Whenever folks would refer to them as my "outfit", I would reply--it's not an "outfit" it's what I wear, just my regular clothes!
