Understood Joao--But the style works for me--with regard to both aesthetics and tradition as I embrace the Californio style of horsemanship, style, etc. I'm a hard fit in any kind of hat due to my small head, long face, etc. Proportions have to be just right or they just plain don't work...
One of my favorite hats--my 100% Beaver Buckaroo Style by Rocky Mountain Hat Co. RIP John Morris Sr.--good news is the company is in good hands with John Jr.!
Maybe something from Schaefer Outfitter? I have their Mesquite Jacket and have/had many others--great US made product:

So to add to the confusion re Mackinaw Cruiser fit: I tried on an older size 40 (from right before the switch to S,M,L sizing), and it was too big. The store also had a Medium Seattle Fit--honestly it didn't fit much different--still big. So I figured a 38 would be a good fit--I found a nice...

Thanks! I usually wear a 40 regular jacket. You might ask Filson for their recommendation--that's what I did. They show measurements on the website bit think they have more info on the different styles. I used the online chat. There are vendors that offer free shipping and returns like Zappos too.
Had the wife snap a few quick ones. It is a trimmer, more tailored look/fit, but I think it works for this jacket--easy to layer over a heavy flannel, but probably not a heavy sweater (which I wouldn't do anyway). Doesn't feel restrictive. This is the size Small, and I'm about 5'10", 162 lbs...
I just got one today in Navy--sharp jacket! I plan to use it as a sort of business casual jacket for work and for wearing with jeans on the town. I like the vintage vibe--kind of like a fancy mechanics jacket. They do fit big--I'm 5'10" and 162 and bought a small. It's a trimmer fit but not...
