Let's talk about Deck Jackets (my grail has landed)

It's my favorite to, the lapels, buttons and buttoned sleeve makes it really nice. The thing with the sleeves is what I really like about both M-1943 and M-1951. In the M-1965 the sleeves are foldable and attached with velcro instead of buttons, making it a bit bulky.

Yeah, they do! The jacket at the bottom is – as mentiond above – a US Army M-1943. The jackets has buttons instead of a zipper, wide lapels and a hidden drawstring in the waist. The jacket is in really nice condition, still issued but as near a nos piece you can come. The fit is unfortunately a...

Let's talk about Deck Jackets (my grail has landed)

No it's not, but i've read that some sailors put wax on their jacket to make it more waterproof. The top layer is called jungle cloth and is denslely woven and double faced.

Thank you, that's a much appreciated comment. You are right, this is way to warm. Have you ever considered a nice safari jacket? I have one, in beige, that I use all the time when the weather is warmer. Even though they are completely different jackets, they still work in a similar way. Color...

Let's talk about Deck Jackets (my grail has landed)

Hi Fedora Lounge! First of all: thank you for reading. The saltest of the saltest jacket has landed after years of searching for the right example. Condition is important for me and that complicates things when the original jackets were produced during the 40s. This is an early version, from...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

The zipper is original and the jacket is in a really good condition. No holes, no rips and everything works just fine. This model doesn’t have a hidden hood and the sleeves comes without isn’t foldable like the M65 does. These details makes the jacket – in my opinion – even more pleasing to wear.

The Real McCoy's Steinbeck | Size 42, black

In my mind, if you study the mytologi around the word sport associated to this jacket - or a classical sports jacket - I think you will find connections to sports like golf, cricket and polo etc. I don't think you necessary wore this type of jacket on the course, more like to the course. And...
