I have a 689 as well, great jacket. Sizing is tricky as you point out as Schott recommends you go up one size in this model. I ordered one size up and wish I had just gone with my regular suit size. I kept mine and use it to layer in the cool weather.
Lucky Brand are my favourite. Nice and thin/soft and the sleeves are just cut high enough to show a bit of bicep for those who like to do the odd set of curls.
As a Canadian I’m super jealous of your opportunity to actually try these on, must really bring some clairity to what works well with your unique body shape etc. Of the photos provided I think the Freewheelers A1 suits you the best (easy for me to say it’s not my $$). Thanks for the post!

Very nice to see two different sizes of the same jacket fit so well. A lesson in practicality for those of us who spend too much time obsessing over fit details. All I currently have is black but maybe deep down I’ve been a Walnut guy all these years??
