hi...well, as much as i love this lamb leather repro WW2 G-2/ANJ-2 flight jacket by US Wings (selling for $320 on sale on their website) i've just not been wearing it much. as such, it has less than 10 wearings on it, has no damage or wear except for the typical little bit of fluffing/balling on...
treat that horse
thanks for the info...despite all the threads suggesting not to treat a new jacket, i will put a good treatement on my eastman luftwaffe horse...hasn't been wetted yet, but this sounds like a good idea
danke
well mr finn, i can withstand almost any jacket urges these days, including taylor, but the call of the luftwaffe, especially by this erdmann jacket, is always very difficult to ignore.
thanks again mr. z for again imperiling my bank account
hung 2
howdy...yes, they look exactly alike except mine do not have the pant's hanging portion...aside from the fullness of the wood is the very long length from end to end, inches bigger than a normal hanger...the fullness of the wood plus the length (that puts the hanger ends in the very end...
legume jacket!
my old nemesis! how i've missed our discussions.
i do recall your gene kelly on a motobike routine with the schott, which did reassure me to the extent of no shrinkage, but as for stretching, i'm still skittish.
but all you 1-eyed and pea-jacketed folks have got me thinking...
qweeeeeeeeeeeeeezy
hi one-i
i must admit that i'm rather queasy about doing all that stuff i read here on the fedlounge to something i paid $900 for. banging expensive jackets on the ground, or washing them like underwear...just ain't moi.
i guess this means i ain't a man. but i've heard...

came in at the end of this thread, but for the last few years have gotten the larger, big ended wood hangers for my jackets from some online website...bought about 15 of them for about the same price per hanger as above. they look the same as above, so i'm assuming they are the same...
qUESTiON
i have the eastman luftwaffe horsehide leather. perfect fit, with arms probably longer than those the germans wore, but still i'd like about another .5" as well.
not going to wet the jacket, but wonder if wear (i often drive when i wear it, so i get bending in the arms) will stretch...
and furthermore...
everyone with the most basic knowledge in A-2 history knows, simply KNOWS, that 'metal collar tips', 'buttery soft leather', and front 'side pockets' were special military specs allowed by Hap Arnold for the AAC!
c'mon people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing!
i can't believe the lack of knowledge on this website. that no one has heard of the vaunted Aviation Air Command shows a true inadequacy on all your parts.
simply disgusting.
HaLT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just some info from my obsessional efforts on getting the best luftwaffe jacket i could find from the ww2 era.
finally ended up getting an eastman horsehide luftwaffe. simply an amazing jacket which has pretty much ended my obsession with getting any more leather...
oH mY
just realized i needed 2 more posts to hit 500. have slacked off a bit since i got the perfect jacket (eastman luftwaffe horsehide), but now i need one more post to hit 500. i'll choose wisely.
i am gratified to know that everyone on fedlounge has enjoyed every one of my posts immensely ;)
civil response
a look at the civil air patrol website (http://www.capmembers.com/cap_national_hq/member_services/uniform_information/) has a link to vanguard, and vanguard makes a number of their uniform and jacket requirements.
i think it's pretty cool to get legit spec leather jackets...
congrattttttttts!
love your philosophy of creating true to the era jackets! nice site...i know you'll do well, and i'll certainly check up on your offerings. including, of course, your luftwaffe style offerings.
well, it's time to get rid of jackets that are a bit snug or tight on moi. so, offered for your appreciation, this Johnson Leather of San Francisco MiLSPEC replica of the WW2 G-2 jacket that briefly replaced the A-2.
offered for a buy it now price of $175 on ebay with many pix and more info...
