I can't remember a negative comment about keeping a hat on except from my EX mother in law. I have had comments made in a tone of voice not indicative of praise, "I see you've been wearing your hat" , "hat hair" he he he he he, "you don't look normal without a hat on".
My etiquette is all...
I think it has been so long since hats were widely worn that moms and pops are not teaching their kids to fuss about hats.
You only know to be offended if someone tells you to be offended AND you don't question it.
I will say this: maybe the take the hat off at every possible chance crowd of...
"Texas accent" is pretty elusive. It is FAR more than one sound since it can vary so much place to place. With time so much of the regional dialect gets diluted. East Texans from piney woods sound like Mississippi and Louisiana neighbors but there are a few words that get pronounced different...
I bought the hat about 15 years ago at a western store that was closing. I was in the store several times and never saw much I needed. When they got to 75% off and were in the final week I went in and there was almost nothing left and only two people running the store. I asked if it was OK to...

Know Superfine. Snug fitting fed for a 25 MPH wind day. I don't normally get many 20 something comments but today several young men and young ladies had pleasant comments. They must have thought I was the Undercover Boss.
Those hats Eric finds never cease to amaze me. There must have been a lot of guys in your neck o' the woods that bought new hats and put them away and never wore them. That OR is NEW!
Yes, the endorphins released by felt hat use can cause severe addiction in many. All the attempts I have seen to have meetings addressing the addiction just result in more hat trading and purchases. Search posts for "Fedorafest III" to see what I'm talking about.
My addiction runs 2 to 1 in...
I have bought hats at the Resistol/Stetson outlet that were ba***rd versions seemingly trimmed and finished with whatever was laying about. But those were sweat hole punched as seconds. This is like nothing I have seen on here over the years. Other Stetsons of that vintage that I have or have...
Here is one I have that has no name or other ID markings. Odd liner and a very high quality sweatband to be marked just a Royal Stetson. Very nice felt with good hand but not as good as Imperial Stetson felt.
Any ideas on a model name?
I had that hat decision moment this morning...
The darker grey Gannon won BTW. The Knox Stayed in there until the last minute. I had to get in the truck and drive out of driveway to stop the decision angst.
