My friends with tact will say, "Please keep your hat on. You have such lovely hats"
My friends without tact will say, "Keep your hat on, Your hats are way the Hell better looking than your assed up hair"
You guys are killing me! Such great hats and I am putting 3 boxes full of new parts on a truck and there's no way I'm wearing anything but a ragged ball cap and my miner's lamp for the rest of the evening and most of the day tomorrow. I guess I'll be wearing hats to bed to catch up on hat time...
You made a felt purse out of a sow's ear there for sure. That look so rich and 100% beaver-ish. Way better than any Bradford I have ever owned or have seen.
On the one hand your wife fashion checked you but on the other hand you got in one more hat wear and change. I think the hat wear and change is always a win.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
This Stetson is in my top 5 list but I can never decide which one is #1. That changes with the wind and what I am wearing. A VS charcoal with black ribbon and grey edge binding with similar proportions to this one goes to the top of the list a lot. It was my Friday choice
I have used the cardboard from a legal pad back and cut it into 1 1/2 inch width longways. It is firm but flexible. It does push the liver inward and wrinkle it. I will fold the sweatbad over it an then push it towards the sweatband stitching. It stays put. If I have ovality issues I put two 8...
Back to the original topic, in 1960 when I was a bit over 2 years old, I wore my dad's hat dropped over my eyes as the top of the crown stopped it at that point. In 2017 I like them perched about 1/2 to 3/4 inch above ears. Usually just a wee bit above level but sometimes tipped back a fair amount.
The Untouchables TV show is a fav of mine for hats. I like wider brimmed fedoras and the period they depicted was wide brim heyday. Robert Stack is not usually the best hatted but there are always several hats to covet on any episode I've seen.
Got a new one made by Mike Miller. 100% beaver and he did a wider self band and made the band have a Ranger belt like style, narrows down for buckle set. I will likely do a bit more with the brim shape.
How about about a what were you wearing on Friday? Had a meeting and no way I was not wearing my new Mike Miller western. They say I wear a different hat every time and I wasn't going to prove them wrong .4 5/8 brim, 4 5/8 crown finished height.
I always like the ads stating the hat is beaver hide..............
I guess wool hats are sheep hide.
I did get a hat once with a knotty place in the felt. I suppose that was beaver anus.
I failed to get the quote feature selected. I was commenting on the question as why one person paid about twice what someone else did. Not really different from most any store where you buy something a week before a big sale.
I have been going to the Resistol Outlet for 30 + years. The MO there changes a lot. They used to have marked specials that were random as they got excesses of certain hats. Then for several years they had scheduled sales. I think Labor Day used to be one of the scheduled selldown sales. Now it...
fedora sprezzatura. I have a crooked head. Not pinch in the wrong place crooked but if I put on a hat and it settles to where it feels right it does list to one side a few degrees. I wonder if sleeping with a worm clamp placed level and tightened just so would fix it?
