It looks very similar to Vicenza olive right off the bat, but I'd rather roll the dice with Aero than Vanson. They just never seem to do themselves any favors when it comes to showing off their leathers, and their website and pictures are just about as unflattering as can be. Case in point...
Pretty nice color, but I have yet to be convinced. I'm considering doing an Aero Outlaw vest with olive Vicenza pockets as a bit of a test run, but even that seems risky. I really wish they offered a more foresty green option.
Does anyone have an idea of how olive Vicenza looks after a year or two of serious wear? It's an interesting color, but I would need a guarantee that it would darken up over time before pulling the trigger.
Wow...I was expecting them to look like they'd be hammered into shape by hand or something, with all of the slight imperfections and uniqueness that comes along with that, but yeah...that looks like a buckle from a mall belt. No offense, of course, but jeez. My girlfriend actually does metal...
Man, this is torture. I just received my 8.5 Nick's Renegades in English Bridle leather TODAY. They're okay, but what's in your picture is far closer to what I had in my head.
Also, I realize that I posted this thread in the wrong place. My mistake for not being able to handle my alcohol. Not sure how to delete it and/or transfer it over to another forum, though.
Handmaking a buckle is territory that I know nothing about, but speciality metalworking definitely seems like a labor-intensive process that would be worth charging for. Not to say that I think a belt should be dirt cheap, because obviously skilled makers like yourself need to earn a...
The talking head on YouTube was in the $150 to $200 range back in 2021. I've made roughly ten belts in that time, and in my limited experience, burnishing and adding a keeper doesn't tack on too much time. If there was a ton of decorative hand stitching, then that would be a different story.
Hello Everyone,
After two beers, this scenario popped into my head:
Aliens have just landed. Unfortunately, they're fully armed and hostile. Don't ask me how, but humanity quickly decides to send its best man to try and defuse the situation before it escalates into a horrifically violent...
Hello Liam,
I haven't made a thread on that, but it really isn't more difficult than looking at a picture of a belt you like and then trying to duplicate it. In fact, if anyone wanted to get into making stuff out of leather, the first thing I would recommend making is a belt. I'm starting to...
Hello Everyone,
I'll start off by saying that I think the current price of belts is absolutely absurd. I watched a video on YouTube during the pandemic by a popular guy/channel whose name I shall not mention, where he went through what he considered to be some of the best belts to come out that...
Here's a jacket I saw outside of a Trader Joe's here in North Hollywood. I snapped this pic right before the pandemic, so it's impossible to know where Mr. Unstoppable is nowadays. I like to think that he rode his bike all the way to the Moon and beyond.
This is honestly enough to turn me off of Fine Creek, and up until now I had been seriously considering one of there Richmond jackets. Them cutting off epaulets just saved me a ton of money, so I guess I should be happy they do it.
