Deerskin is considered an exotic leather as I understand it- likely a niche market.
I've got a rare G&B deerskin A-2 and it's a keeper. Very soft and supple yet durable.
I've not treated my 1980's goat Cooper A-2 with anything.... other than my time wearing it and it still looks like new. Goat does not patina much if any at all over the years.
