I dont have experience with the Schott 689, but I have quite a bit of experience with Schott and Gail who seems to be the lead customer service person for custom orders. First off, here is my take on Schott vs. Aero in general, as I own both. Schott is an excellent quality jacket, but the...
Im not a fan of hastening the break in period of any jacket, so I cant comment on the soaking aspect, but I have a question: What made you add the detergent? Ive not heard of that one before.
Im definitely a single malt guy, but I have had one blend that is pretty good which is Johnnie walker blue label. My normal single malt standby's are Macallan 18, balvenie 21, and laphroig 1/4 cask. I occasionally have macallan 25 when Im out, but havent been able to bring myself to buy a...
Ive found that mold smell in clothing is there forever. Ive even tried bleach on a few things and it remained if it was bad enough. You may want to call a mold treating company and see if they have any recommendations?
Wow...didnt you just send your other jacket back in the last week or 2? That is almost unbelievable turn around....I thought you were joking when I first read your post. Congrats on the jacket, it looks like it fits well.
there is nothing worse than someone who makes it apparent that they have tried to hard to match. I wouldnt sweat it honestly...just do your thing and enjoy it.
Im in the same boat. Im waiting on one new jacket that hasnt been started yet, and making some changes / additions to an aero I sent back a few months back.
I wish I could help more, one thing I can say is from my experience stay away from chippewa. They have an excellent wide boot selection, but over the last 10 years I have purchased 5 pairs and they have really lost their quality edge. They are not worth the price they charge (this is for the...
no. Aero recommends that you dont hang the shearling jackets at all. The chain is just for looks, I had it left off mine because it is useless for the most part. Im sure back in the day, they hung their jackets, until the chain eventually broke or ripped out.
For comfort and durability I would say red wing is the best bet. Wesco makes great stuff especially their custom line, but the prices sky rocket and unless you go custom you dont have many options.
Check out Red Wing, youll be glad you did.
I think one for each for fall, winter, spring or 1 or 2 jackets that cant handle all 3 seasons. The goal is to break them in and make them uniquely yours, Im not sure how one can do that with too many jackets (unless they acquired multiple jackets over a very long period of time), after all it...
when I ordered my jacket from Aero I told Amanda that I wanted to wear a thick sweater under it. She asked for my measurements in a t shirt and with the thickest sweater I would wear on. I gave her both measurements and the jacket turned out fine. I wonder why they dont seem to ask the same...
under a coat = concealed IMO. Im not an anti, believe me. I have a lot of experience with carrying of firearms open and concealed for work and in my personal time. Im sick of people needing to draw attention the their carrying of weapons and this just seems like what this thread is about. I...
Not to be rude, but this just seems like a rediculous topic. There is no difference between a gun or any other tool, either the lining piles and gets in the tool and becomes annoying as you have to clean it more often or it impedes functionality or the tool wears at the lining because the...
From the recent photos of a midweight HH jacket, the hide looks beautiful. Im not sure that it isnt waterproof. Aero states that horsehide is naturally waterproof, not that only FQHH is. My area of greater concern if this is a lifelong jacket would be that aero warranties their FQHH for life...
