The giant berets you see there are those of the French "chasseurs alpins" or mountain troops (https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Béret_de_chasseur_alpin).
My great uncle (is that what you call your mother's uncle?) passed away 18 months ago and served in the chasseurs alpins. I know he still had...
"La 317eme section" by Pierre Schoendoerffer. OK, this movie is in French but it is a real jewel with limited dialogue and you can probably find a subtitled version.
It starts in an outpost in Indochina just at the fall of Dien Bien Phu. It is about a platoon of indigenous infantry led by a...
That looks great. What is the brim width? I have to start wearing the 1952 Mode Edge I got but am a little intimidated by the 2-7/8 brim on mine. Maybe I need to play around with the crown a little to get the dimensions right.
That's very nice. After seeing yours and some of the blue hats that Michael A and alanfg have posted, I am trying to track one down now.
This thread is not good for my wallet, but good for my happiness factor (so long as I don't go broke).
I would be interested in your list.
I would add

"Hang on little tomato" - Pink Martini which is a fun little song

King Arthur. Waste of money apart from a few battle scenes at the end. Guy Ritchie did not deliver on this mix of Snatch and Arthur. Call it "Snatchalot" total flop.

Love your outfit, awesome.
Oh no! But I figure if I buy her the odd hat from time to time, picking up on the hint, I may get some leeway. I showed her some Esther shots a few weeks ago which may be an own goal (but good for Esther).

No name straw for me and my wife.
She wants to reshape it... hmmm, she has been asking a lot of questions about hats recently... she mentioned...
This plane has a 90 hp Continental engine and cruises at 115 mph. It cannot do aerobatics and the "rush" is more that it is an easy plane to fly, but to fly it well requires attention and practice and when you get it right, it gives you a smile like few others - musicians will know that feeling...
Got to fly my share-o-plane Luscombe Silvaire 8e for the first time in 5 weeks due to holidays and work. Modern Kangol as fedoras don't really work with a headset.
