Modern Stetson Montecristi Panama "Jenkins".
The fabric sweatband is comfortable for wearing, but I'd like the hat even more if it were leather;
just seems to give a hat more class.
FYI:
A vintage silk-fur Top-Hat size 7 1/2 (60cm) in pristine condition is not easy to find.
But who would pay 5.000,- Euro for it?

Here is a nice Borsalino Baku in 58cm / 7 1/4 on German eBay; maybe 1980's.
The seller has been lowering the price since a few weeks, but still to much for me.

My 2 cents .... I see they claim it's 100% Paglia (= straw), but my guess is that it is made of Toyo straw or even more likely Shantung (paper straw).
I could be wrong, but you better not risk getting it wet :)
So most hats in your collection are older than you?
In my case they would have to be older than 1963; I have quite a few that are younger than that :-)
I did compulsory military service in the German Luftwaffe in the early 1980's.
Amazing how popular German combat shirts and jackets are throughout the world.
Sometimes when I see a hat offer on eBay with obvious mistakes or falsehoods, I'll send the seller a message with the correct terminology or facts.
Some react nicely, change their offer details and even thank me for the input.
Others don't care and probably just think I'm a "wise ass" :-)
