Nowadays you need self confidence to wear a nice mens hat and are usually rewarded by people treating you with more respect because of the self confidence you display.

I'ld love to have a Stetson with airplane on the liner ... and one with bunny ears :) IMO "Flagship" and "Playboy" are the coolest hat names out there.
The color, felt texture and identical felt hatband give me the impression of an Alpine (Alpen) style Borsalino :)
(I have a black fuzzy Borsalino that originally had an identical felt hatband; changed it against something with more contrast.)
Concerning brim treatment:
I guess a simple raw cut edge requires the least effort for the hatter.
But I'm not so sure that a bonded edge (fabric), welted edge or Cavanagh edge will guarantee an over-all better quality of the hat.
In the end it's more a matter of taste.

True; but I think it has a lot to do with how tight the sweatband is on your head as well.
I have some other vintage straws with leather sweatbands as reference.
Those that fit tighter, do draw more sweat. Those that fit loosely and let more air on your forehead are no problem.
