With some effort, patience and luck you can find high quality used hats (50+ years) in good condition for less money on ebay, at flea markets, etc.

First time I see an offer for a Borsalino "Mimosa Twenty Five"
Is that a hare / beaver fur-felt mix? Or does the 25 stand for something else?

I love that "Commander" is writen on the liner.
If this hat doesn't give you confidence and authority ... what else will?
I have a Mayser called "Kadett" ... not quite as prestigious :-(
I can confirm German Stetson "Royal" and "Premier" too; I have a few :-)
Like you said, both licensees used several different designations; but Germany (Mayser) presumably not as many.
"Imperial" vs "Excellent" seems to be the main difference for their top models.
Very nice.
Interesting;
this is the 2nd or 3rd English Stetson "Imperial" I've seen, but not sure I've ever seen an English "Excellent".
On the other hand, I own several German Stetson "Excellent", but don't recall ever seeing a German "Imperial".
Just like there seem to be no German Stetson...
