I love my Roadster hats. Rear brim is down or up depending on my mood. As you can see from my previous posts, I replaced the leather band with a 1 ribbon band with bow.
Might I suggest you look into Sterkowski caps. They've got a similar style. Based upon my experience, they're much better quality than Boston Scally. Sterkowski sells direct as well as through Amazon and eBay
Yes, their Norte has built in earmuffs. It's a nice cap. I tend avoid caps with built in earmuffs because after a season or two they tend to lose the ability to hug my ears. So I use separate earmuffs.
I have the Rambler in the conservative grey. I like it. I swap between my Rambler...
I agree with you. I've compared my 3 Sterkowski caps to Wigans and a few manufacturer's. Their quality is equally as good and are at least 50% less expensive.
Sterkowski Harris tweed caps are really warm.
I've got my eyes on one of their summer weight caps now.
I've got a harris tweed cap that's a bit tight fitting. It's a 57 size and I'm like a 57 1/2. If I get the band area wet and then put it on a hat stretcher. Will that stretch it.?
I agree with you. The Mucros was reasonably priced and they're made well. The green and brown combo isn't something I'd normally choose, but it's growing on me.
Here's a 1927 newspaper article about a fire in New Baltimore NY. It featured some of the men helping clean up. Interesting that they wore ties while working
My great grandfather is in the front photo on the left. ❤️
This is a great discussion and hopefully others will chime in.
In a lot of ways, I'm still in the trial and error phase of cap buying; including my personal appearances likes & dislikes. I've got caps that family and friends compliment me about. But personally aren't sure about if I like...
Nice looking Wigens. I had one of their "slim" newsboys and just couldn't bond with the look.
I'm a middle of the road person wen it comes to newsboy width. The big floppy ones look comical on me.
