What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

Thank you kindly for your compliments. I soaked the sweatband area of the cap with water and put it on my hat stretcher overnight. The size 57 is now a very comfortable 57.5.

Ask a question, get an answer

No question in this. Just a shout out to Delmonico Hatters. I live within a 30 minute drive of the store. But due to Covid & weather, I haven't been able to get there in well over 6 months. Not long after I walked in the store, Ben Delmonico greets me by my name. He asked how the hats that...

    The Cap Faction

Oh, I get the need for cheap hats to avoid ruining better ones. I own several caps that were made in China that are sold by Bailey, Gamble and Gunn, etc. My issue is with the cheap Chinese caps on Ebay. The few that I've purchased barely lasted a month of wear. The stitching was poor with...

I don't own a camp draft hat. But I love my Banjo Patterson hat. 4+ years old, it's my hiking, yard work hat.

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

74 degrees in April feels great, but too warm for wool caps. Afternoon hike called for a 50/50 linen cotton cap from Bailey. For lack of a better explanation, it's a 8 panel flat cap.

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

That Mucros cap of mine is nice, but the green tint seems to be limiting what I feel comfortable wearing with it. I practically live in my Sterkowski Shelby (blue)and the Gamble and Gunn Ramsden (grey) these days. My quilted lined caps are all put away for the season. They're too warm now.

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

I understand the concern with wool fedora's. But I thought wool caps were essentially impervious to the elements.. especially the variations of Tweed, etc.. I've been wearing my Sterkowski, Gamble and Gunn caps in rain and snow with no shrinking. I dab the excess water off with a towel and...

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

I'm wondering why you are concerned about wearing a wool cap in the rain.

setting a hat down: brim up or brim down?

I've typically got 2 hats in rotation and they're stacked upside down / crown down with the brims tipped up. All other's are stored in boxes with proper rings, etc..

I agree with you about 8 panel caps.. But there's a sweet spot for me...some are too wide or floppy for my personal tastes..
