What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

It was 75 degrees and 80% humidity at 7AM this morning. It was a bit too warm. But I decided to wear this Gamble and Gun brown "Molloy & Sons" Irish Donegal Tweed Newsboy. Its a size 57, sweating in it stretched it just enough to make it really comfortable.

    Hats in restaurants

It's been decades since I've been in restaurant here in the US that had a coat room or people who handled coats or hats. I'm not even sure if they still exist. If they do exist, I probably can't afford to eat there. Coats in restaurants in the US are typically hung on the back of your chair...

    Hats in restaurants

We rarely dine in "fancier restaurants" that require more formal attire. Heres my process at the regular places that we dine at; If we're sitting in a booth, my hat or cap comes off & sits alongside me. If we are at a table or at the bar. My hat or cap stays on my head.

A few things that I've learned from purchasing newsboy caps from Gamble and Gunn. #1. Make sure of your size. Return shipping is NOT paid by gamble and Gunn. I'm between a 57 & 58. They've been willing to sort through their caps and provide me with great fitting caps. # 2. Watch their...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Modified Sage Green Royal Deluxe Stetson Roadster. The thin leather hat band came loose. So it was time for a change. I dug through my collection of old hat ribbons and decided on this one. My sewing skills must be improving, only stabbed my fingers 2 times.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I posed the question because I see some very valuable hats posted here that made me wonder. It wasn't meant as anything to stir up trouble. Are those valuable hats actually worn out in public, sweated in & subjected to the daily wear and tear? Or are they treasured collectibles that are...

    Colour vs heat

I own a straw hat, but it's rarely worn. For some strange reason, I get a headache from the white reflection from the underside of the brim. My fur felt hats get worn year round and never noticed any benefit from ventilation holes. But then again, I've been known to wear a wool newsboy cap...
