Looks to be a coveted 1949. Looks to be in nice shape and a reasonable price.
Edit - I didn't look close enough. I missed the no contract number of the 1949.
Don't get me wrong. I'll still throw on a pair of sneakers with my peacoat, but boots just polish the look. And with a pair of Chukkas, or the Thursdays, you can still cuff your Salvedge. ;)

My 1973 is a Melton coat from the Pembroke Coat Company. It's closer in consistency to the Kersey jackets of the day than it is to my 1990 Melton coat.

I know that the red, DC, stamped on the names stenciled on the coats means, discarded. The WWII coat I just bought also has, nr, on the tag. Anyone know what that means?
Okay, now I can't stop myself. This 1966 was too good a deal to pass up. Now I'll have 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 90s coats. Guess I have a few more decades to go. :p
