I have one so-called bull hide. A master jacket maker made a d pocket for me some 30 years ago. The jacket is very stiff and has not worn much. Personally in heavy jackets, the cxl steerhide is hard to beat.
Ok, jacket. I had one of them. Due to the high price, I would never purchase such a thing. Nothing special. Leather is similar to a very nice espirit cafe racer.
Very nice pick up. Love those buco's steer hide jackets. Mine is very supple and soft. Unlike some of my horsehides. The crown main zip looks like a replacement. It would be cool is in fact the crown is original to the jacket. Good cleaning and conditioning will bring it back to...
Friend, beautiful machine. By the design, it looks like the late '30s or '40s. I must say, the first thing I would do is to take out of the sun. Also, if you can, remove the leather belt from the wheel. With respect, search engines online must have more information than me. If you are in...
Those are some cool images. I think they are more in the late '40s and early '50s. I have several in different hides. I based my observations on original zip production, construction methods, and leather production techniques. My goat leather model has the same skin as in my Korean period...
Your article is excellent. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed jacket reconstruction. That jacket is so very nice. It reminds me of a Vanson I currently have. The hide is basically the same as one cool jacket I restored some time ago. Here are some of the images before...
Sure, I will take it out of the closet when I get a chance. The jacket is a half-belt design in natural color. I also have a trucker type she also made. Her family has been crafting jackets for generations.
Nice D pocket Herc. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1950s-D-pocket-Leather-Motorcycle-Jacket-Talon-Zip-Large-/115847352344?&_trksid=p2056016.m2516.l5255
Pit to pit 25 and taking offers.
I actually own a Native American deer jacket made by a master craftsperson who has been making handmade jackets for more than 30. She picks the best leather but never "ID" the deer. Deer is just a top choice for leather jackets. By the way, I lent the deer my USO sn-3 scope to go with his...
