Horse hide stretches' and shrinks also. To a very LIMMITED degree it will form to your body if you take the time to properly treat the leather. There are members who actually "washed" complete jackets with nice results. Personally I have done suede leather jacket with acceptable results.
Friend, Why not doing it yourself? Truly is not that hard. However, Can you just replace the slider? It appears to me that the slider is not locking in place. I have used #5 original talons on RMC before and they do work. However, is the teeth are weak, perhaps only the male side can be...
Friend, I used whatever is cheaper. In the past, I used to make my own by just simply heating it up at a low temp and removing the imperfections such as beef and tissue etc. Currently, I picked up the name brand epic at my local store for about $5 US. Try to stay away from the bleach and...
When you brush leather, the brushing motion generates heat. Heat promotes fluidity in the solids deposited in the leather. I have seen Vanson's videos of how they treat leather with heat to bring out the oils to the surface. I like to use tallow only with Linseed Oil when the leather is...
The jacket is just great. The lining in it is exactly like the one used in my Californian police jackets. That lining is strong as nail and it looks so classy.
The seller should post some images of the jacket. Was he a member? It is too bad I did not see it first... LOL. I am still looking for an original collar mouton. If any one has one, please share.
Gracias compadres.
Nice one you have there Caballero J. I was wondering what size is your trojan. I love the original belt on those. I got some very nice HH from Stu. I will be making my early 50's production belt. I have been using my LW j23 belt, which is not bad either.
Nice Jacket. Is that a new mouton collar on that jacket? I will be making some for my black j23. I got some LW HH from Stu. However, I will making my collars based on the original buco pattern. I will post when I get around to it.
Love the jacket and
your set up. LOL. It reminds me of several broken ones I did before. I am contemplating using my garage and go industrial black pipe style. However, the black pipe has gone up on price.
I hope he sell it. However, I will just not pay for it. I had this type of thing happened to me many times. Locally, I travel to see a jacket and informed the sellers about their jacket then immediately the sellers want more. I will continue doing my thing. I put a limit to what I want to...
It does not look like Star Glove to me. The lining, belt loops and the batch holder are from a later period. The zips look a little later than the early Star Gloves. I think is a very nice jacket for what it is. The price is a little high. I will ask my friend Jauregui. He will know.
