Anyone with any experience with their horsehide and pull-up leathers?
Looks like they have listed some new jackets (new to me at least).

The lightweight CXL FQHH is too light in my opinion, resembling 12-13 Oz denim. My premier Highwayman almost feels like a wind breaker jacket. Simply no heft at all. Regular, mid-weight CXL FQHH is much better.
The only requirement for customs duty exemption is that the goods must be manufactured in the UK:
"When are goods duty-free?
Payment of customs duty is not required when the goods are manufactured in the UK (originating product) and are sent from the UK. However, value added tax must be paid...
Goods manufactured in the UK are exempt from customs duty in the EU countries. Just need to have a 'certificate of origin' on the sales invoice (Aero always adds it, I think). Never paid any customs duty when ordering from Aero/SB. You just have to tell DHL that they are dealing with UK-made...
Sorry, not to ruin the fun or anything, but I think you got screwed by the customs or didn't request the customs duty to be deducted (it can be done with UK-made goods - saves you 10%). I am also based in EST, my total was 652GBP - and I only paid 168 euros extra (i.e. VAT + DHL fee), letting...
SB "very much hated by the majority"? So who's the "majority"? Seems to me there's only a few rather vocal users who never miss the opportunity to diss the company. Plenty of people happy with their SB jackets.
Received my 30s Premier HB from Aero. Fits like a glove, the measurements are absolutely spot on. This batch of CXL FQHH is much heavier than I expected (feels like armor), but I think it will settle after a week of two.
In addition to 24% VAT, Finland also has a customs duty / import tariff for cloths, which is 12% (just checked from tulli.fi), so ordering from the US is madness indeed. Fortunately the customs duty doesn't have to be paid for goods manufactured in the UK, so Aero is still a good choice.
You can find a size 42 Aero Highwayman here (only €460):

Says it has a 58 cm pit-to-pit.
No good options in mainland Europe. Excluding second hand, the cheapest option would probably be Simmons Bilt (their leather jackets start at £575). Another option would be to wait for an Aero sale, but it might take a while until it happens again.
Does anyone know if Aero has longer production times during the summer? During the last sale in October, it only took a few days from 'production' to 'order complete', but now it's been weeks.
I remember someone here saying that Aero uses slightly thinner CXL steerhide these days (1.3-1.4 mm vs. the old 1.7+ mm), so what you are saying makes sense.
The lighter-weight CXFQHH indeed almost wears like lambskin, no stiffness whatsoever.
I chose brown CXFQHH for my premier HB as inspired by zebedee’s CXFQHH jacket, but it has not gone into production yet.
