I am afraid, yes. My problem is my belly these days (and since a while before). If it fits my belly and hips, it is too wide on the legs. If it fits my legs perfectly, I can't button these things up. They do have denim trousers with different fits, though. This is the "1937", it is meant to be...
@handymike, you could do a search for denim fatigue pants or trousers, there are some nice options.. I just found one in a nice navy blue ripstop for a reasonable price, made in USA, not at all baggy:

There is a way to regret, never to have done something until it was too late. But this way you should not be enticed to continue, I truely believe. You have parted in mutual respect, something sometimes not even married people can claim when they have to part. Who knows how things would have...
Edward, the name is Lutece MfG. They do have nice old school cuts. If one can live with minor imperfections at seams sometimes, and don't mind the label they sew to the outside on many of their loose cut models, they are indeed quite good. I know many who are very satisfied especially for the prize.
I don't know. I like my jeans roomy, wide legged, hight waisted and sturdy. My favourit is and was always Pike Brothers cut in 1940s fit. They are very durable and look good. Their denim is woven in Turkey. All are selvedge and come in 11oz, 15oz and I think the newest are also availlable in...
@Sonero: I would second what JustinW said. The problem is that this 25oz jeans could shrink too much. This is the reason why I don't buy tight fitting anymore since I decided to wash every new jeans at 30° in delicates setting before the first wear (I say to myself, I let my machine warm soak...
Although this written so often on the internet, it is also written that this is one of the widest spread myths that had been busted by experiments. Scientists have found, that deterioration of the fabric could be even faster. Here is why:
In experiments with a 15 month unwashed jeans they...
My rule of thumb is: When I have comfortable two fingers of space between the waistband at the back seam and my spine, they will fit quite snug after wash. When I can place four fingers without much force between waistband at back seam and my spine, they will stay comfortable for a long time...
I have seen too many jeans shrink on me too much with the inevitable first wash one day sooner or later or myself expanding that I made it a rule for me, never to buy too thight fitting to begin with. Hopefully yours will loosen up enough. Or do you plan not to wash them?
Nice woolen clothing shown here! I love wool. I had to stand for a day's watch in hours long rain with a huge loden blanket thrown over me and my head. Was surprised when coming into the camp tent for warming up to find I was completely dry underneath. I have norwegian and icelandic wool...
The 666 are truely fantastic pants!

The last image illustrades well what was said above, how heavy weight denims can brake at the creases. Does it make sense to not wear them so heavily starched as they come brand new, but soften them up by...
Great first hand piece of history, HD!
Sure, things get a romantic paint-over when long enough ago. I am not saying that youngsters were after certain fades, just that their pants faded in a way modern department store jeans would not fade, at least not those we could buy over here. And the way...
Feeling that I could not let this thread stand on it's feet alone that early, I jump in again.
I guess it's a question of priorities. Your priotities will most likely be on something else. I recall you as a true high quality leather jacket wearer. You would surely agree, that you would not...
I guess from these three only two can easily be realized in the same pair of good classic era jeans.
Hard wearing + cheap = chances are, these are not produced in a very fair and sustainable way.
Hard wearing + produced in a fair and sustainable way = most likely not very cheap.
Cheap and...
