Perhaps I have confused Samurai with Momotaro in my last post. But I do believe that Collect Mills in Kojima, Okayama, Japan provides the denims for both brands. Here you have the "science" of denim that was mentioned previously. There is a lot to explore. The looms used at Collect were made by...
Very good and useful detailed info, Blackadder!
@Sonero, I don't know if I am correct, but I think Samurai's Denims are made at the Collect Mills in Okayama, they also make the Denims for Rampuya, Japan, which in a corporation with Blue Owl Seattle produce the "Japan Blue" Jeans. I have their...
Congrats to your wonderful authentic '44 N1 you got! Thanks for the nice fotos of it, as well! The ones I saw were so battered that they were hardly in wearable condition. I currently own one khaki one and one navy blue (the intermediate version with the bold lettered reflective U.S.Navy stencil...
Since there are two parallel theads about the exact same matter I suggest, that we move this thread to the other denim thread. How do you feel about that, Kermit? Folks? Bartenders?
Agree totally. I have come to wear them exclusively. And I am one of those, who wear theirs until they start to look good to eyes like your's and sell them to you guys..
I can only second that. Many times I asked myself, why so many of our fellow american loungers seem to fav Wrangler in the denim threads. I believe it is helpful for many readers to understand, how the fashion market works.
There is some reasoning behind the desire to get "good" jeans in...
That is pretty much my size, too (aside from my momentary lockdown belly). I am very happy with Pike Brothers. I am sure there will be some shops in France that have them. I haven't tried the 1946 lumber pants, but all types of their Roamer Pants. I like all of these. They are great pants! I...
When you are happy, so am I! You look very glad in your new jacket. I agree, details and over all quality are very good for the prize tag. I like these jackets more fitted on me though but you like to layer and this size seems to work pretty good for you indeed. I also like my sleeves a tad...
I still think, Kid, your N1 looks good based on the fotos. If it feels good, I can't judge. But it looks good imo. I have seen a huge lot of old photos where the Navy personnel looks not much different in theirs. I actually washed my khaki one on wool setting without spin cycle when it still was...
If it is the khaki one with the chest stencil, it is very hard to get off without leaving a pale spot. You can go to the dry cleaners and ask if they can remove it. Often times they can and can also dye the spot back to the original color. You also could put a decent patch over there.
If it is...
I'd like to stress, that the fit of the Bronson Navy Blue Demotexed Deck Jacket and their regular khaki one is different. My above words were adressing the navy blue one. I also think, that not only body weight and height has to be taken into account when ordering a specific size based on their...
I apologize, Kid, for my late reply. Your jacket looks good in my opinion!
Yeah, the arms could be a tad longer, but not much. These Jackets can feel snug at the beginning. At least I have the experience that they loosen up to a more comfortable fit. I agree if you are between their sizes (as...
What I don't get is our stupid tax and customs duty thing with private imports bought directly from US. For a pair of US made boots or jeans I have to pay the sales prize twice with all the additional costs added. The only chance is a domestic seller with mass import who can offer lower prizes...
