soak it with a spray bottle of distilled water & use something to iron out the creases, like a bowl or large spoon & a steam iron.
Use a handkerchief between the felt & the steam iron. If you do this a lot, a Hat Shaper block is a good buy = http://www.hatshapers.com/

Sounds like you need a more durable travel lid. 30's Borsos are a thing of beauty & sounds like yours need a refurbishing.
Lots of place to reblock but with a decayed sweatband, reblocking is not all you need done to this lid.
If you want to make a beater out of it, so bet it. It is your lid...
Should be dead air space between the top of your head & the inside crown of your hat. The sweatband should be what touches your head unless the lid is screwed down tight due to high winds or unruly mount...

I've looked all thru that "catalog" & can't find that hat.
Found an OR with just the contrasting band ribbon but not with the contrasting edge...
