I was asked for Pit to Pit measurements, so I took the best I could but can't hold tape & operate phone camera at the same time.
If I flatten out to the vent holes & pull the tape tight I get 23 1/2" but this fits like a tight 40 not the tagged 42. Included waist measure to show the taper too.

Western weight is typical heavier than dress weight but some vintage westerns are lighter than their modern brethren. I look for older model Resistol or Stetson western hats that give me enough brim to trim & crown to crease. Look for vintage Adam & other lesser know western model...I have found...

3 softballs zipped into a pillow cover in the dryer with my Vanson Enfield tumbled with no heat. Lots of noise that annoyed SWMBO in addition to her displeasure in what I was doing to her dryer...She'd probably go for a few swings at the jacket if I was in it....
