Awesome @El Marro, All the jackets you post from now on must include your Chevy! Muscle cars and black leather jackets just compliment each other so well. Rock on!
I haven't heard anything since the beginning of last week.
I did it in the morning and wore the damp jacket in the house the rest of the day. It was a Schott 618. Most of the water didn't penetrate the top coat. The lining was dry for the most part. I had the jacket zipped up.
Hopefully you...
I actually did this also. I put my jacket on the driveway during a heavy rain while I waited in a dry house. I went out one time to flip it. lol. It worked pretty well. I was able to shake it off and wear it the rest of the day in the house. The lining only got wet around the edges.
Hope you...
Thanks Brad. I actually did this with my last 618HH. It was so unmanageable, I dunked it in the stationary tub for about an hour. I then rang out the 50 pound jacket and put it in the drier on "air fluff". Seemed to help alot. I know what you mean, sometimes a spray bottle just doesn't cut it...
Thanks for the pics Colin G. What a magnificent place. I hope to visit Japan before I die. I would love to experience the culture. What a place.
Glad to hear you survived covid. I can't wait for this crap to be over.
Thanks @El Marro. Can't wait to see it in person. I hope I can handle the break in. Lol. @ton312's jacket looks like a complete tank. I was able to handle Vansons old competition weight, but I was about 15 years younger. lol.
That looks exactly what I am after. I didn't specify shiny/dull. I thought they came only one way. I did ask Alan about the sheene treatment after seeing @Jin431's jacket, he said I didn't need it.
Thanks again Jin for being great eyes and ears. lol. I am hoping for a vest and maybe some leather overpants for riding. I don't think I will go super heavy on either of those. Probably around 3-3.25oz. Only problem is, all the leathers you describe sound great. It is hard to tell from a little...
Thanks for trying my friend. lol. You have been a great help describing all the leathers and projects in the Bay Area. I am going to keep an eye out for updates of your German leather. I will be looking for a riding vest in the spring/summer. You are our eyes on the street.
I can't believe you made an awesome jacket even better. Stunning. That brown is off the charts, your jacket is really starting to break in nicely. Hope to see more of it.
Thanks J. I am trying to per-fect the perfecto. lol. Hopefully this will be my main riding jacket. Hope it comes out as good as the other JL's we are seeing lately.
I have a JL in the works and HOPEFULLY should be done very soon. They were finishing it up last week, so hopefully will be done in the next few days. It is going to be a modified perfecto. Laced sides, with a belt, 4oz black overdye, detatchable collar, and insulated lining. Hopefully I will be...
