I think I am going with the 618. There are too many variables with Vanson right now. Mainly the quality of their hides. Hopefully they get it together and I will have a reason to get another jacket. I am getting an itchy trigger finger and I need a jacket to break in while I am waiting on my JL...
Great fit Carlos. Really a cool jacket that is buried in the internet. Sometimes I am amazed at what is hidden out there. I am really feeling Danny's pain after these pics. lol.
I hope they are not having a going out of business sale, everything goes. I know the owners are probably getting older and maybe are looking to retire? I hope not. They can knock it out of the park if they can find a great supplier. I would love to see them team up with Horween. That would be a...
I am not really sure what is going on in Fall River. I guess they lost their current supplier of comp. weight?(a good thing) They have had EVERYTHING on sale for months. Almost like they are trying to get rid of their old stock and (hopefully) start over? If they can nail down a few good...
That is what is scaring me away from the RandR. That, and my last competition leather from Vanson was complete garbage. I don't think they stock the RandR either. I believe they have to make one up, which can also be very unpredictable with Vanson. If I went with Vanson, I would probably go with...
I am trying to decide what to get next. I lost a few pounds and am down to my "summer riding weight". lol. Just another reason to get another jacket. This jacket will have to fit on the snugger side. It will be used in warmer weather with the lapels opened and just a t shirt. If the jacket is a...
I just sent them a message over the weekend. I asked them if they are making any "special edition" 618s anytime soon. They replied and said nothing is scheduled at this time for the 618.
First time I got to ride in my 21oz Bravestars. I am a big fan. They really cut down the wind. Might not be AS good as leather overpants, but are definitely better than your garden variety Levi's. I am sold on the heavy raw denim for m/c use. Not heavy use yet, no real fades at the moment.
I finally got around to weighing my Schott 618hh. I thought it was heavier and harder to break in than my previous 618. My size 48 came in at a little over 5lbs. My newer 46 weighs in at 6lbs.
Took out my Glide today on it's maiden voyage of the new season. Man, is it hard to do the speed limit on the first ride of the year. lol. Had to go to Best Buy to get a cord so I can post a pic. lol. Had the 618 on and it handled the 52 degree temps with ease. I also got to try out my 21oz...
I am actually waiting on a remake. My first jacket had a few issues. JL has been great. I am waiting on the new batch of Horween overdye to arrive. Hopefully in the next few weeks.
I had a few beers in me when I made my post, hence my little issue with the Schott tags. I bought 2 new 618hh. One around 2016 and it had the flag, the other last fall, and an imported materials tag. Not really a big deal, but Schott raves about being a 100 year old AMERICAN company.(ok, my rant...
Gonna order a new Schott 618 in time for March Madness. I dropped another size down to a 44. This jacket will be patched up. I am torn between the horse and steer. The steer has old glory, but love the shine of the horse. Not fond of the imported materials tag. I've had 2 horsehide jackets from...
I have been on the lookout for your new jacket. I thought I might have missed it. Can't wait to see it.
I don't think 8oz. bullhide and buttery soft go well together. lol.
