I bought my other half a Carhartt arctic parka last year. I think the model is only a few years old. I was inspecting it the other day because I was thinking about getting the mens version. I was teasing her because I noticed it had a "game pouch" in the back. I am not really sure why Carhartt...
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, Marc. WOW, what a place. Looks like he has quite the display (collection) of old M/C jackets hanging around. I am a sucker for motorcycle leathers. I can't wait to see your cross zip when it is done. It looks like Thedi is the new...
I have bad shoulders and I use mine to "rest" my arms/shoulders sometimes. They are a little hard to get at sometimes. They could be a little easier if they were moved closer to the front.
Maybe they are actually for your rear passenger?
I would keep it as long as you have mobility. I think it will get a little "easier" to wear as it breaks in. Mine has.. I really don't think they stretch that much, I think the leather becomes easier to move in, if that makes sense.. If you are happy with it, by all means, give it hell.
I think it looks good/snug. You could probably go with the 44 and be ok also since you don't ride.
I would post fit picks, but I never have a photographer around and the only mirror I have is in the bathroom and is head high.
I had mine out today on the m/c before the Browns game. 68 degrees when I left, 81 when I came back. The arms are broken in pretty good, but the body needs a little more time.
Sucks about your sleeve stitching. Let us know what Schott has to say. I am sure it is fixable if you want.
The shoulders on mine make the jacket a little snug in that area. I would not say it restricts my movement at all. I would say my jacket is starting to break in but has some more to go. I am sure I will get caught in the rain sometime. It has mainly seen indoor use so far. They seem to take...
I really love my steerhide 618. Got mine from Legendary with 15% off for under $700. I use mine for motorcycle riding and it really works well on the bike for me.
I received mine at the end of spring. I have been doing the OneHead method of breaking it in, I have been wearing it indoors with...
I also think it looks a little wonky in the back because of the stiff CXL. I really think this jacket will be special in a few years. I really hope you keep it. Gotta remember, most people gain a few pounds as we age, especially weight trainers who don't work out as often as they did when they...
I really hate to comment on fit. I am no fit expert AT ALL!!
If I was asked my opinion, I would have to go with Tree and say that your Indian is a size too big. We have to remember these are motorcycle jackets. They are designed for riding a motorcycle.
I posted some fit pics of a model E a...
WOW!! Amazing work. Your jacket turned out great. Hard to believe the before and after pics.
I want to send her my 618 for some mods. I want a left side, open, inside pocket and a right side, zip close, inside pocket added. I want a snap added for the belt, like on the 118. And I was also...
I had to do a double take also. I thought to myself, I thought this dude was around a 44 or so. I had to ask myself, size 36 can't be right. Isn't this a Japanese brand also, aren't they made smaller from the start. Then I had to ask myself, maybe this is Jin431 posting or something. Maybe my...
I always love watching your videos on old motorcycle jackets when they come up on my recommendations for youtube. I think videos do way more than the pics. I just love seeing the old m/c jackets and wonder what stories/where they have been.
I was wondering why I never came across an old...
Well, not a jacket, but some new gloves. I took advantage of the Vanson sale this weekend and ordered some new "x-ray" gloves. My rottweiler chewed my other ones up. I originally ordered the x-ray ones with the gauntlets. Once I tried them on, I could not zip up the glove OVER my jacket, not...
I hear you onehead. I have been "working" on my steer 618 since I got it. It is the only jacket I have been wearing since around April. Almost 90% of the wear time has been indoors. It has not even been wet yet. Hasn't seen any rain at all. I am going "all natural" on this one, no accelerated...
