Another "if it fits it ships" event lol These days can add a bit of humor to the day. Fortunately it was a fairly soft, inexpensive Stetson Weekender destined as a first hat gift for a relative. Doesnt seem to have picked up any unusual shapes, so basically no harm no foul. Good...
Thought id go a little "Mad-Menish" this morning. Tag under sweatband says its a Stetson Concord in Gunmetal color and was a $20 price. 3x Beaver with a 2" brim. Super nice soft hat. Liner is a very light beige. wid ribbon has a cool texturing. Square size tag shows only 7 1/4 (no metric). Im...
Its MISERABLY hot and humid here..... I cant wait to cool windy wet weather gets here... I have so many darker and heavier hats that cant be worn right now. My Chanmp Featherweights and Silverbelly Moose River are too hot to wear by 8am... Come on fall and winter! ( sometimes I miss the...
The funny part is that Ive had this shirt for at least 10 yrs, and today was the first time Ive actually noticed that the front and back are identical lol
Got the Stock certificates and a pile of full page Saturday Evening Post and Life Magazine ads framed up and on the walls. Pretty much have a "Stetson" dining room now lol
Humm..... interesting....there was a Postmaster Named Andrew V Robey in Maryland that testified during the trials of the Abraham Lincoln assassination conspirators. 1864 to the 1914 date on the stock is a bit of a stretch to have been this guy, but perhaps a son? Any Maryland Historians on here?
Big day! got a couple of really nice sequentially numbered Stetson Common Stock certificates from 1914 in today! They even have the transfer certificates on the back from 1922 when one was redeemed and the other transferred into new stock.
The names are prob lost in time, but just in case...
Heat index of 111 yesterday with 95% + humidity ( my meter pegs out at 95% humidity lol). Going to be pretty much the same today. Definitely a no felt day. Headed our for coffee under the Sage Hemp Stratoliner and a raw silk shrt
Bright, hot, sunny day today (and for the next week). Threw a cheap Stetson straw up top and drove my little John Deere around in circles till I pushed 8" of grass out into the street. ( I've got a three decent looking cheap "sweat on them till you drop" hats for yard work now... no sense...
The walls are looking better and better. Most my work is done around the dining table so I figured it was the perfect place to display them. LOL Ive been planning to replace the grungy old baseboards for 5 yrs now.... guess Id better get on that!
Got a couple Stratoliner Ads and matchbooks up on the wall. Several more ready to go.... just trying to figure out whicjh wall they will go on. Trying to keep the general hats together as well as grouping the ww2 "Keep it under your Stetson" ads together
