Now for todays number two...This one is NICE. Came in a Mallory box... BUT IT DID COME IN AN ACTUAL HAT BOX with bubble wrap all around. (NO packing peanuts) 3x Beaver Open Road in 7-1/4 silverbelly ( just a hair lighter shade of silverbelly than the first one) Again intact wind cord with...
Two Open Roads in today... One definately has more character lol. It should clean up fine but... loose packing peanuts and christmas tinsel... seriously? Silverbelly 3x Beaver 7-1/4 Long Oval with intact wind cord, and 2-1/2" brim . Fits really well. Very clean and felt in good condition...
There was a nice Forest Service Steton on ebay last month (Including gold embossed US Forrest Service on the sweatband) but it was WAY more expensive than I was interested
The brim looks mighty sharp for an auction hat... did it arrive like that or did you clean it up and shave a hair off? Ive picked a few hat up that had nibbles, burn marks, or stains on the edge.... Timming 1/8" off with a brim cutter really cleaned them up a lot
today I de-cellophaned two Champs, a Knox and a couple Towncrafts.. inside of hats look way cleaner and its really nice that they dont "crunch" when you put them on. Id probably think twice about doing this to a higher end collectable hat, but since these are modest little hats I have no qualms...
One of my Grandfathers Champs. I had replaced the trashed leather sweat a while back. Today I decided after the success of removing the cellophane liner cover on another hat, that this one needed the same treatent. Removed the yellowed cellophane and the logo was beautifully clean underneath...
Ill chime in that it was good to see the Lost Cowboy resurface... guess the internet finally caught up with him over there!
Ive been trying to take it easy after the foot surgery, but my poor retired brain seems to be hardwired to wake up at 5am for the gym whether i set an alarm or not. Makes...
Whats left of the band still tours. They played here a few months back. Last saw then about '78 so I just had to buy a shirt. Lots of goodies on their website

Happy to report a couple of Adam Pacesetter updates. The spots are pretty much all gone, and the vinegar smell from the foaming cleaner is just about...
My Akubra Lawson dates to 2011-2012-ish . Its never been abused, but has been soaked and sweat stained several times. It has amazed me how well its held up all these years. My very first Akubra, and the best thing my ex wife ever gave me. There have been several Akubras on my wall over time and...
Heres the Adam Pacesetter that came in yesterday. Nice $21 hat. Liner is going to need some woolite and maybe remove the plastic cover in the liner ( its crunchy, noisy, and looks grungy underneath). Im actually thinking of removing the liner all together, trimming out the Adam logo and...
Just to correct... I said its a Gambler... after seeing a few old ads, Its prob more correctly a Derringer (It does still have the lttle derringer hat pin that will go with it)
We need some kind if super secret squirrel signal when one of us is bidding on ebay. I see hats there that I think " its my responsibility to save that hat before some bubba gets it". If I knew one of us was bidding on it I wouldnt feel so down when it goes byond my budget
Thats why I got mine... but I found that I DO actually use it all the time... Grab a hat I havent worn for a while and give it a little tickle before I head out the door
Ive recently acquired another 5 string banjo.... Im thinking about searching ebay for a lime green suit so I can do my best Kermit the Frog Immitation on stage. If so maybe my toquilla will pair ok, but Ill probably need to call up Kevin in NY and find a matching green hat!
