Can a dried out leather sweat band be saved?
Last time I found a ruined sweatband on a hat, I went back and put leather conditioner on all my other hats. How often does that have to be done? Should I put some leather conditioner on a sweat band every six months or so? Or maybe after I've worn the hat and gotten it sweaty? Is it safe...- Doc Glockster

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

Guessing a hat size if someone only knows the inside diameter?
I have also read (maybe here?) that when you measure the inside of a hat you have to allow for that hat to be slightly bigger than your head in order to scrunch down over your skull. In other words, if your head is 23" then your hat will be slightly bigger than 23" in order to fit.- Doc Glockster

Can a hat be "shrunk" or "shimmed" to come down two sizes? I wear a size 7 3/8 with the hat being comfortably loose, or a 7 1/4 for hats I like to be tight. So whats so horrible about the new Stetsons anyway?
You ain't kiddin'. To further muddy the waters consider the Stetson Revenger. If you look in some places it's a Stetson "Buffalo Collection" hat available in Chocolate or Black. If you go to Millerhats.com, they offer a hat of the same name in totally different colors and somewhat different...- Doc Glockster
