Thanks for the short review @Nine Inch Males.
Maybe some day I'll get a pair of Brisel Black tankers..
Awesome name by the way, I'm a big fan of NIN and Trent's other work :)
If you want something more in the middle of the spectrum of engineer boots - less dressy/slim, but not too rugged/bulbous either- you can also look into Zerrows boots :

In EU we also have ...
I have never owned or seen anything from Benzein/Briselblack in person but I can still give you a bit of information.
Together with Onderhoud they are considered to be the best Indonesian makers to go for if you want Engineer boots specifically.
Indonesian boot makers offer a very high quality...
I would not rule out Brown kelpie...

Just do your best to provide them with as much accurate information from your side as possible (like those photos).
And accept the fact that you're always taking a gamble with 5*, probably more than with most other makers.
Rather cheap gamble at that.
"I'm new to the whole repro leather jacket world" and your first choice is to go for the very high end / most expensive (relatively) models/makers? Not being judgmental / negative, just curious. Can you expand on how you decided to start right from the top? If you feel comfortable with answering.
@ROOK ALLURES
Hey! Can't wait to see the outcome of your order, especially in terms of fit.
Well they were mostly accurate, but also inaccurate in several different ways.
1 . They completely screwed up the chest pocket measurements, making it rather useless for anything else than keys. So...
This is another interesting idea that I had for a thread recently (sorry that I keep making these).
Similar idea has been discussed in many "one jacket for the rest of my life" type threads.
Imagine that you're choosing where to live based on your leather jacket hobby/addiction/obsession.
You...
Basically 3 aviator jackets. Beautiful! Each one so unique. Next step - Marc enrolls into an aviation/pilot course and eventually ends up collecting and flying vintage inspired planes.
@element of life Yours looks much better on you than mine did on me :) Congratulations on your jacket, enjoy it!
I'm waiting for a brown cxl Hooch Hauler with black moleskin lining myself. Fingers crossed that it fits me once I get it. Should be finished in 1-2 weeks.
Nice to finally see some Kelpie pictures!
I've gathered some as well as I was seriously considering it for my Aero order.
How does yours look under direct sunlight?
I found this CF Stead Equus Instagram post where the leather looks very dark brown in the shade but pops out like crazy with...
Thanks everyone for the positive feedback on the wallets / stitching :)
I have a few requests from friends to make some wallets for them, maybe that will inspire me to come back to this hobby a bit more.
Also a few more interesting related resources (wild boar leather instead of pigskin...
Nope, that's how they came. It does puzzle me that some of the stuff that I've seen from pigskin has those very pronounced hair holes, while the leather I have and use only really has them on the flesh/suede side. Grain side you can barely tell it's pigskin. Maybe sanded from the...
Had an idea recently to make a thread about Pigskin / pig leather.
Would like to hear your thoughts about it.
It seems to be mainly used as lining for boots as far as I have seen it.
I have used it my leather working. The wallets themselves did not turn out too well due to my mistakes and bad...
