    All good points. I'd only ever wore my Army beret under a GI Gortex coat hood once or twice. I can see how you'd value it in cooler temps when you're wearing a hood; however IME, my ears always got cold in a beret. I prefer the watch cap, personally. I do think berets can look good at times...
