Basically looking to outfit an aero for DC weather. Alpaca was too itchy and shearling is too much. I'm left with moleskin, corduroy or the heavy stroke for the body, and either moleskin or cord for the sleeves.
The weight of the cord is a good point, hadn't considered it.

Carrie, if I find alpaca itchy, but I want a warmer lining, can the alpaca be ordered with a layer of cotton drill over it? Or would you you say heavy strome wool is the way to go?

I agree. I had a size 42 maxwell fit jacket some time ago and the pit to pit was a bit over 24". That may have been a bit of a ladder one, but under 20" sounds like a 36/38 or so to me.

After calling around to a few recommended places I ended up sending my highwayman back to Aero, where it is presently getting relined. I only would have saved about $100 domestically, and I have the confidence in Aero relining their own product. Plus I preserve the label and tags, which help...
