    Johnson Leather Jacket

Yeah, the disposable income statement may be more of a regional factor than global, but generally if the leather goods market trends upwards and say it's driven by footwear, it has a shear drag effect (similar to frame dragging) on the jacket market with number one jacket style request the...

    Johnson Leather Jacket

Well, the leather jacket market size maybe not as small as it appears if we consider all types of jackets and not just the vintage or vintage reproduction demand in men's jackets. The general leather goods market share has been increasing steadily and it's projected to continue the trend. Market...

How about Schott? They're not a small shop but they've been around since 1913

    Johnson Leather Jacket

Yeah, I don't mean bad by any means, I just think it doesn't live up to the hype, as you put it. It's fine leather but not better than Horween choices, as the local leathersmith has informed us. I have both and to be honest I sold the shinki and got a brand new horween jacket and had a bit of...

    Johnson Leather Jacket

Should open your own shop. This is more concise information on leather than I've ever seen. Bur I still think shinki is way overrated.

You could ask JL if they can source the hides you want. Any hide I've mentioned they said that they could provide. Never asked about shinki. Not interested. My humble opinion is that it's overrated.

Last time I dealt with Alan he was at the shop on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Now you guys are starting to get me in the mood for a vacation in SF. Never been there any way...

Yes they do. They sent me the first one, I suggested some adjustments and they sent me another with the adjustments implemented

    Johnson Leather Jacket

Very similar to the jacket I had made by JL in bison hide. I really like their work

Just when you thought you had seen it all . . . (Warning: Not for the fainthearted)

Hahaha yeah. Probably the used a few anacondas

Just when you thought you had seen it all . . . (Warning: Not for the fainthearted)

Talking about exotics. For just only $20000 you could have both. The alligator coat is priced $18000. The snake just 2k

Excuse my ignorance here, but what is the difference between all those versions of HH that Sb offers? Blattwerk, Clayton, Epsom, Metro, Ranger, Lux. I looked at the Horween website and did not see any metro or whatever. Has anybody had any experience with any of these hides?

    Five Star Leather Jackets

Yes the price for a heavy B3 has been bumped up quite a bit. I recommended it to a friend who's moved to Minnesota and it would have cost him >$800 with the various upcharges. So I think he went with cockpit USA.

    Five Star Leather Jackets

Speaking of 5* sleeves, besides the bulbousness, they don't have arm curve. They're straight as a board. And measurement wise, I had to have my jacket altered to the measurements I sent them. But for $410 the jacket is pretty good and has had a lot of use.

    Johnson Leathers

Man that's a great jacket! The only thing I would change is the chest pocket. I don't like that kind. My personal preference for that type would be something like Or similar. But yeah, that's the kind of jacket I'm thinking of. Would have to be a type of leather conducive to buttons. But that...

Thank you, yeah custom job as I can't find anything off the rack. I've had some adverse results of my silly activities and had to have some medical attention. Any way, I'm thinking of a buttoned jacket next from JL, modified Cossack or maybe hip length halfbelt/blazer type design.

    Johnson Leathers

And here is my new acquisition from JL in 3.5oz Bison hide. It's just a superb leather. Supple, pliable, basically no break in time, and yet it's thick and feels very durable. Beautiful grain, and out of the box mature character. The jacket is comfortable and wears really well. They nailed the...

    Five Star Leather Jackets

I followed the 5* recommendation for sizing and the result was a jacket way too loose. I took it to a seamstress and resized down a couple of inches. It fits great now

I think he meant to say "if you are not on a budget"
