This just arrived from Ebay and is quite interesting, not unique in a bad way but definitely unique as far as I'm concerned.
It is completely unlabeled though, I checked inside the pockets and didn't even find a size tag.
It has late 50's ( through 90's I guess) talon zippers.
Maybe...
Damn well now I guess I have another jacket to start searching for.
This one has the same era label as my vest too, and you know I wouldn't be afraid to wear both this jacket and my vest like I do my other PW suede jacket.
That JO-O-KAY is a nice looking jacket too, but the PW is just tops.
I asked the seller if they checked the pocket for a label, but they had not and they've already shipped it so I'll just have to wait and look for myself when it arrives.
Well I had found multiple vests on my watchlist and every one of the sellers sent me heavily discounted offers ( maybe vests just aren't moving quickly right now ), the prices were all right on the ones I was interested in most and I couldn't help myself.
I just payed $37 shipped for this one...
Has anybody seen a vest like this before and have an idea who might have made it ?
Buffalo check wool on the outside, natural colored leather on the inside, with natural leather pocket trim and back adjusters.
it has a late 50's ( the charts say late 50's-90's ) Talon zipper.

I pulled up the Ebay listing on my laptop ( I'm usually using my phone) and can see that this vest definitely has a talon zipper, it looks to be the late " 50's-90's " type but something tells me that this vest is closer to the 60's than it is to the 1990's.
This one was a real gamble because there's no apparent label ( hopefully there's something inside a pocket) but I just thought it was really cool and figured it was worth a gamble for $50 shipped.
I think it's got a talon zipper, but it's another one with less then ideal pictures.
The leather...
I'm still probably in the market for another vest, but I just snatched up this Pendleton for the princely sum of $15 shipped off Ebay.
the pictures aren't great so I could be missing something, but the measurements listed are good and it's well worth the gamble for that price.
I scored it...
I would never ever wear shorts and a leather jacket or hoodie or really jacket of any kind, I wouldn't wear shorts with any form of long sleeves nor would I wear them with a beanie or scarf either.
Maybe that's just me ?
That's a steal, Pioneer wear is kind of a hidden gem.
Excellent stuff that's under the radar and low priced.
My vest was $17 shipped, and my jacket was only $120 shipped though I probably could have got it for a $100 shipped offer.
I'd definitely buy that ASAP if it were a 36.
I found this interesting dark blue cooper on ebay, I don't know anything about it but I like the pattern.

I'd be tempted if it weren't dark blue...
This particular jacket is a model 503 hunting coat, to my knowledge it's not a mackinaw.
I know that's a popular buzz term used on ebay...etc to sell any vintage wool plaid coat, but a Mackinaw is specific type of jacket/ coat.
I bought a 1950's 503 early this year with the same rear buttons...
It's not about their original intention to be utilitarian, but the fact that they've become fashion footwear, priced higher than they should be, and are often bought by people assuming certain things about the quality based on the price and argue about the quality based on said pricetag and the...
That's because their prices jumped way up and he got this kind of quality, but while this kind of quality shouldn't have left the door it happens and I think one should give a company a chance to make things right and to determine how the defective product got shipped before just blasting them...
They had some general winterwear, but you're right they primarily focused on outerwear for hunters.
Now they're just a hipster fashion brand and not only are their products overpriced they're also of fairly low quality.
I'm not sure if there's any traditional offerings out there these days...
The rock roosters were simply given credit for being above average in quality for the money and worthwhile as a cheap work boot, they were cut in half and the proof was right there.
If I remember correctly they were examined as an alternative to BRUNT not in comparison to any premium boot...
They're not all dressy and weren't always so, but one thing is for sure and it's that chukka's have always been a short traditionally made boot.
The monstrosities mentioned above are just a taller version of a horrid modern athletic shoe of some kind.
The only thing they could possibly have in...
