#1 - Bates
#2 - Cal
#3 - Vanson
I pared down my jackets, so out of this list, I only have one Vanson, two Cal's, and one Bates. I would have more of the latter if I could, they just seem very hard to find, especially the loud flat track styles.
Close, but a little bit older. The first two jackets both have Talon teardrop zippers, which places them in the 1960s-1970s range. The fourth jacket's label dates to 1960s - early 1970s as well, but it is a bit older than the other two. You can see the label differences between them. I'm not...
I remember seeing the first jacket here awhile back, I believe this brand might have been discussed. Agreed, the pattern is real bad.

This is not unusual for selling platforms. Etsy and Poshmark are two I can think of that are similar. The reason they want your bank account info is because now everything is being done in-house. It's no different than having PayPal, Amazon, or any other selling platform be connected to your...
Are you asking what makes Cals valuable, or what makes this particular Cal valuable? Just to list a couple of things:
It's an unlabeled Star Glove label jacket, the immediate predecessor to the Cal Leather label. If I'm remembering correctly, they started with the Star Glove label in the 1920s...
Seller has steadily dropped the price from $375 to now $200 + shipping, with best offers enabled. They seem very motivated to sell. I submitted a $150 offer, which I honestly think they would have accepted, but then I cancelled it right afterwards. It's just not going to be worn and I'm saving...
That account is a Japanese proxy seller. They are directly listing items from the Japanese used market onto eBay at very high prices. The reason they don’t respond to most questions is because they don’t actually own the item, they’re just copying everything from the original listing in Japan...
This Cal has relisted a couple times at $200 + shipping. Size 36L, or around that. Anyone know how difficult it would be to repair the seam issues in the arm?
Like Jmax said, the seller will probably go lower. Maybe not right away, and it depends on how motivated they are to sell, but I really would be surprised if this sold even at $800. The only thing justifying a price that high is the scarcity of this jacket style. Search “Cal Leather Cafe Racer”...
Fairly sure it's a Cal Leather 6 panel cafe racer. The back paneling is the biggest indicator of this. Other Cals below.
Price-wise, these have sold for around $250-$400 here, I think? They are fairly uncommon. Given the price the seller listed this at, he'll might look at any offer in that...
Hi folks,
I'm selling four Bates jackets on Ebay. I've seen them pop up here as well, and since they haven't sold in two auctions, I figured I might as well offer them up for sale here as well. This applies to all of the BIN leather items I have listed, but besides these jackets atm, there's...
Wicked Bates set arrived at my door today, first thing I notice as I moved it around is some off white material getting on my hands. Upon setting it down, I see there are numerous spots like this throughout the jacket. Any friction on these spots results in the off-white leather rubbing off...
I don't really mind the hide (although maybe getting their light hide is like going to a steakhouse and ordering a well-done steak), it's more a personal issue with the fit. If I had a longer torso, I wouldn't have anything to complain about, but it is just a bit too long while also not tapering...
Hi folks,
Just listed a jacket on Ebay that I figured I'd post here as well. I purchased this a couple months back and have not worn it outside the house at all. No complaints about the construction or materials, but the cut just isn't what I like. Too rectangular. I should have realized that...
